I wanted to take this opportunity to take SirVimes for all of his support in helping the community with his dedicated work. Being a Community Correspondent isn't easy. Heck, I don't even think that you can put it on a resum'e, can you?

Actually, Bash, SirVimes did post sometime last week that he'd be stepping down. I'm not sure when its going into effect, I'd expect TH to post something asking for applications. I'm sure no one wants to kick out SirVimes. The work he's done for this profession is nigh-legendary, and not just with chefs.
I think the devs are getting tired of me and are rushing me out the door. ![]()
And usually I keep the title until they pick somebody else.
PBN, I really hope you are just trying to prepare for the future just in case Sir Vimes ever says, "Forget this non-paying position". Because your post is really comes off disrespectful to all the hard work he has put in. Not flaming you, but try to have some more tact man.
Good job Sir Vimes!
Bash
Um Bash, incase you don't know SirVimes has already said he will soon be stepping down

Thanks for the nomination, PBN. that briefcase of small unmarked bills is in transit. I'm not sure how I'd feel trying to fill the position after Papa Chef, but someone's got to.
Although if professionalism is a requirement for correspondant-hood, I may be in trouble. Maybe more "write post, walkaway for a few minutes, come back, re-read, cancel post"is in my future.![]()
I wanted to take this opportunity to take SirVimes for all of his support in helping the community with his dedicated work. Being a Community Correspondent isn't easy. Heck, I don't even think that you can put it on a resum'e, can you? But still, its sad to see you go, and if you're ever on Shadowfire - and need anything at all - drop a /tell to Tevoo or Iceoo.
Now, forthe furry little Bothan. Raise your right paw and repeat after me.
"If I become correspondent I promise not to get anymore hair into the Blood Chowder."

nah I doubt it, look at how long it took for the other correspondents to get "replaced" after they announced they were stepping down...
it's only been a week or two, so I'd give it another 2 more weeks till the devs post anything about any kind of replacement for SirVimes.
if SciGuyCo doesn't get the first offer, I'd suggest that anyone they do offer it to, to turn it down in favor of SciGuyCo getting it, unless he really doesn't want it.
as far as applications go, I think the devs only ask for those if all the suggested names from the former correspondent turn it down, or don't appeal to the devs...hmmm maybe if everyone keeps turning it down, and no one applies we can make SirVimes stay on
or at least prolong the inevitable.
