Thread: Make Food a Requirement for Survival

Here is my simple solution to make the Chef profession more fun.

Make food a requirement, ie if you don't eat, you get take damage. Nothing too extreme, but if you play for 6 hours and don't eat, you lose HP. If players lose 10 or more HP every hour that they don't eat something, they're gonna start eating food.

Right now, eating is just a bonus to your abilities, nobody really relies on it (except us poor Chefs). But for me to make anything other than Soypro, I have to rely on a BE. To make casks we need a tailor with a factory.

SWG is supposed to be a REALALISTIC roleplaying experiance, make it so. Luke and Leia had to eat, Jabba eats, we should have to eat too.

On a seperate note, bring back Tattooine Sunburn, even if its a Master level food. I ground away to get Mix 2, and once I got there, the pacth took it away, talk about aload of bantha poodoo.

Thats my 2cr.

Actually I think most chefs prefer that it is not a requirement because then if people buy the food the chef knows the person bought it because it helps them and they want to use it, not that they have to use it.

For your first post ever you shouldnt have posted this. You should try playing the game more and realize how if this was implemented our proffession would be getting nerfed left and right. If you just started chef to make money then I hope you lose intrest and become a rifleman like everyone else.

I can't keep up with the demand as is. Besides, I like the fact that people don't need my food to play the game.

Chef food rocks! I have been all over my server (farstar) and I mean ALL over looking for the right kind of food. Yeah, I know I am picky... but now... I got super good brandy, nice food and I am kicking butt! I love you guys! Keep up the good work...

And yes... don't change it to a requrement... its perfect the way it is.. and aren't you guys making INSANE amounts of money now? The prices for some of this stuff is high to say the least, but its worth it. =)

Food is already required for the heavy PvPers and PvErs, who incidentally are the only players who could afford food with the current prices.

Actually Georb, I've been a slowly climbing the chef ladder since beta, I just took my time doing it. So i know all about EVERY nerf that has ever been. Yes its my first post, because I finally decided to say whats on my mind. Regardless, I feel we as chefs are TOO dependant on other professions to create our own goods. My architect friend requires only a couple components from an artisan to make his products, yet everyone is dependant on him and others like him to create their houses, factories and structures.

My whole point of this is, if we must be dependant on other professions, they, in some way, should need us for more than just luxury items.

This is a debate that has surfaced many times since day one. Time and again, the general consensus is that the cons vastly outweigh the pros. The system, as it is, works. Forced feeding is not necessary, nor desirable.

Keep it as it is. I haven't been force fed since I required a high chair to sit at the table.
