I was looking through my factory input hoppers and saw a lot of leftover crates of casks.. less than full and from several different runs (different serial numbers) so I looked at some schematics I had in my data pad to see which ones could use these leftovers rather than trash them... NONE of the schematics show a serial number for the casks.... So i tried tossing them in and running more stuff off... and it worked! Seems we can use any serial numbered cask in any schematic using casks instead of having to toss the few leftovers from a batch

Thanks for telling us but this should be known by all chefs.. Any containers do not need serial numbers.

I don't see how it should be known by all chefs... Some of us have recently started using a factory after spending a LONG time hand crafting everything to get the skill levels Serial numbers don't enter into it climbing the tree that way and the docs don't say anything about it

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Well, maybe "this should have been known by all chefs" but as a newer chef, I had no idea of it.

This makes my life much easier. Thank you very much for letting the rest of us in on this!

I'm pretty sure that SciguyCO Added this to his FAQ

Look under "How do containers work?"

Ok, I guess I shouldve mentioned "this should be known by all chefs (who read the forums)" Just yet another example of why chefs who don't bother to read the chef forum fall behind in things like this. There is at least 5+ threads recently that mention this, it is in your best interest to at least check the chef forum for a short time daily (say, at least if you are waiting at a shuttle, alt-tab out and check the forums) because a lot of damn useful information is to be found in here.

It doesn't take that long to skim the titles at least and look for stuff that seems to contain useful information.

So, um, if I don't read the forums (at least once per day since I decided to become a chef) how would I have seen this thread?

Woot thanks for the tip. I was just hand crafting the tid bits i had left over. And I am fairly new to this profession and plan on keeping it. I love being a chef.

Jeez, I say something I noticed and "some" people have to come down on me for it..... seen that many times and it is the reason most people I know in the game DON'T come to the forums.. They are afraid to say or ask anything. I HAVE read the forums daily and have never seen any mention about this anywhere before on this site. I don't have the time to run off to other sites all the time trying to get info... If i did that I wouldn't have time to play and thereefore no reason to do it in the first place.

Now that said, you can have your forum back and I won't be saying anything again
