After recently dinging Master Chef on Tarquinas and surveying the populace on what foods they want, I came to a massive and terrible conclusion that Brandy is the way to go. However, The Prices in the Tarq galaxy make no sense. On one spectrum there are some Chefs selling Brandy for 300k a crate, with BE and casks. On the other side of the spectrum, there are some selling BE'd large glass brandy for 25k a crate. This befuddled and confuses me, thus I turn to the forums. What kind of prices are crates going for in your respective galaxies?

As a sidenote I apologize throughly for kicking this dead horse.

If you make quality brandy, you can sell for quality prices

If you make mediochre brandy, you can sell for mediochre prices

lEither aim for 440+ and sell for 300k or find the cheapest way to get 400 and charge 150k

Yea the guy must have forgotten a zero at the end, should be 250k.

As a bio egnineer I sell a crate of broad spectrum for 35k. The guy will loose money big time at 25k/crate.

I kid you not, 25ka crate. I myself am buying the BE components at 35k a crate, and after examining his goods they were actually Better than mine in every respect. +410, 37 mins, stack of 9. I nearly quit the profession after seeing this, but I decided it was a fluke while I wept in the corner as she undercut my sales. Hopefully things will even out. :/

as with any undercutters....there is one quick and easy way to get them to drop chef, or realize that their prices are hurting everyone...themselves included...

advertise for them in coronet in front of the starport

post on the trade forums advertising their shop location, price and stock (stats on stock help).

they'll be sooo flooded with sales, orders, and requests that one of 2 things will happen

1) they will drop chef (they may not have realized how much work it can be, and want no part of it)
2) they will raise their prices to a more reasonable rate.

while doing this, suggest to all your fellow chefs on the server to slow down factory runs...this will cause demand to increase...and thus increase pressure on said chef(s) who have rediculously low prices.

yes this is fairly mean to do...but there isn't much else you can do.

Nope, just buy out her entire stock and resell it on your vendor.

yep that is what i do when I am out and about. If I food/drink for a lower amount, I buy it and sell it on my vendor at my prices and my business is doing fine. I am currently selling +440 BE for 100k. But am considering raising it to 125k if my sales keep up like this.

My advice its all about supply and demand =)>
