Currently i have 2 crates of heavy nutritional additives. One of them is 109 and the other is 113. My current resources capped my Canape at +705 with the 109 additive. If i use the 113 additive, will i be able to go beyond my resource cap? Or the additive will only increase the base stat thus saving me perhaps 1 experimentation point to get +705 Canape?

I played around with +79 + 84 +86 and +88 making brandy.
The stats went something like +404 +410 +417 +421 ( not exact it was a while ago ) each one got the same number of points and all where great success. So it must raise the cap.

Your resource cap will stay the same no matter what you do. but your additive bonus is completely separate from that. Let's say the canape you are making is +338 with no additive. No matter what additive you use that will always be your base cap.
What will change though is your end value. Say you use a +109 additive on it, you simply multiply that base value by 2.09, the result is your final stat (rounded down). In this case that would be +706. So of course using a better additive will give you better stats, since 338 x 2.13 > 338 x 2.09. I'm guessing you have a typo since with those stats you just won't get +705 canape. But in my example, if you use the +113 and get the same experimentation successes you'd end up with +719 canape.

Oh, and to actually answer your question... yes, using a better additive instead of +109 adds in some cases would allow you to get at least +705 and have another point to spend, I don't think +113 would so it though, by my calculations you'd come in a hair under +700 with one less point spent.

Hi Akiko, there is no typo. I was stuck at 705 because of my resources. They wouldn't let me go higher even when i have the experimentation point so i was wondering whether i can do something on the additives to make it higher. Thanks for answering my questions. Appreciated it.
