Thread: Is it worth it without master?

As the title says, my alt is MA/MDE/MM. I think it was 42 sp's I had left after grabbing novice chef. I want the experiment/assembly line and two others which I can pull should I drop master merch. However, not being able to use the heavy additives and having less exp points...will it be worth it? Is anyone else out there in the same boat?

Mind you, this is primarily for guild use and not retail sales. I still need to make sure the end result is effective enough to tack on another master crafting profession to my already tapped time tables. I could drop a few lines in merchant to make up for it, but I do maintain several vendors and might need to move em in the future.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I think you could probably do ok, it won't be stellar but you can still make really good brandy/etc. You'd only be missing one experimentation point, and you can make up for that with tapes if you have the spare cash. Btw you can use large additives as a non-master, just only in the items that use them (eg, canape, a non-master food, uses heavies).

You'll be missing the heavy additive schematic (and the barrel if they ever get that fixed), but you might be able to sub-contract that out to a Master chef for when you want enhanced Bivoli or Canape.

Without considering the pain-in-the-rear factor of assembling food when you're already doing other fun things like micro sensor suites (I don't know how sick of a person you are, so maybe you will actuallyenjoy these added tasks )I think that you could get plenty of use from chef with your available skill points. The lack of experimentation point can betempered with good resources and higher quality additives, and many of the more popular food and drinks won't accept a large additive anyway (brandy for example only takes a medium or small).I say go for it!

For personal use I would so go for it. Your food won't be the best, but it will be far from useless. Like SciGuy said, you will most likely be able to buy heavy additives from another chef. I'm sure all chefs wouldn't sell these, but there has to be at least1 or 2 on your server. Canape really doesn't need heavies. You get a +600ish buff with mediums and those fly off my shelves so their must be a use for them. Bivoli is probably going to be the biggest one as you wouldn't be able to get to +25, you would be maxed at around +21 and maybe a little lower because you don't have 10 exp points. +20 vs +25 really isn't that big of a deal.

Thanks for the input guys, started my macros last night.

If I do need to jump into the heavy additives I can go to our guilded Master Chef, just trying to help split responsibilities and help personal income maybe a lil because for all the time spent making a droid and running my alt (pike/carb btw...glutton for punishment ), thats a tough go with a limited market.

Other than the main stream foods, in you alls opinion what are some of the less demanded foods that you would think should have a high demand. Without the schematics it's kinda tough to tell the limits on em all without dwelling over stats for awhile. I wanna bring some of the lesser used foods into the guild, as I plan on letting the Master Chef handle the brandys, steak, bivoli, etc.

For instance, travel biscuts , my alt lives on those things as he tromps through the hills of dath. The posion resist food, is that worth it? Ohh, and they changed the ribeneyes? Saw a crate of those but was a health buff.

Anyways, thanks again.
