Honestly?

Pick another crafting profession. Chef is one of those where you really have to master it to make it worthwhile. That is entirely my opinion, and I dont claim to speak for anyone else here. But in order to even consider doing this, you would need to have at least xxx4 for the experimentation. Beyond that it really depends on your choice. There are good recipes in all the trees.

I agree, chef isnt something to dabble if you want to make good, competitive stuff. Maybe get Tailor, or even shipwright or Architect. SW you might be able to make decent components depending on the two lines you get. Arch you could do houses/furniture since you really dont need experimenting on those, and of course tailor, where nothing really matters as far as experimenting (i think).

just my opinion

I think I would pick xx44. There are some nice drinks that will come in handy when fighting: Thundercloud, Corellian Ale, Deuterium-Pyro etc.

You really do need master to be competitive. The extra experimentation is paramount to making any decent product

He never said he wanted to be competitive. You can still make decent stat drinks and food without master for casual use

I would definitely go xxx4 for the assembly and experimentation. The other tree is up to you, as each one has pretty decent food / drinks.

Rufus' : Master Artisan / Master Tailor / Master Chef (12 Point)
Tauno deFuego : Master Scout / Master Bio-Engineer / 0040 Ranger
Dartthh : Servant of the Empire

my alt is just gonna be a bio-engineer/tailor/chef to make stuff for my jedi. This way i wont have to invest as much credits for all the stuff i'll need

well, it's your call of course, and i'm biased because i'm a chef and i love it. but i eat *far* more food than i buy new BE clothes, so i'd master chef and BE and hire a tailor. if you're going to do the BE tissues yourself anyway, i'd expect that you could find a tailor to custom-make 4-socket clothes for a good price if you're providing the tissues yourself. and if you want to make things like crispic, blob candy, spiced tea or ruby bliel, those are artisan foods, not chef ones, so you'd want 4400 artisan instead of just 0400 for more experimentation points.

Or you could just master artisian, living off the smaller buff artisian foods for grinding, and pick up a couple lines in something else.

I would have to agree with everyone else, with only 2 lines of chef the food is not gonna be the greatest...but GL

Or go master chef, master BE and then a few lines in tailor. Enough to put your tissues into synthetic cloth or reinforced fiber panels. I think some of the clothes you can put tissues into are not that far into the tailor lines.

but honestly... with mastering chef, BE, and even tailor to save your jedi some credits, your going to have to invest alot of time into resources and expessially creature resources for BE, so unless you have another combat character with some scouting in there somewhere or sacrafice jedi sp for novice scout.. your going to be right back where you started.

Try giving Master Chef a try or even master BE and work with a master chef and a master tailor on your server. You might find that you really enjoy it
