I started outcharging a base price of 5cr. per resource used. If the batch is particularly good Iwould mark it up a bit. For items like Tat. sunburns I charge a set price based on what I see other chefs are selling for, so I don't undercut the market. I then adjust once I get a feel for how something sells. If it doesn't move, I lower the price, if I'm going insane trying to keep something in stock, I raise the price so I have a chance of catching up. So far this is working.

Lately I find the stuff sells out too quickly, so for many items I am now charging more than 5cr. per resource, not so much because I am greedy, but because otherwise I would have to be on 24/7 to keep up with demand. We have lots of hungry people on Corbantis

I like to do this.

1) Charge 5 creds per resource taking into account any subcomponents. Example:Fishak takes 126 resources all together. 126resources x 5creds = 630

2) Next, I take the resource total and multiply it by a percentage I have assigned to each tier to get my markup price. Tier 1 - 10%, Tier 2 - 20%, Tier 3 - 30%, Tier 4 - 40%, and Master - 50%. Example: 630 x 50% = 315

3)Next, next I take the markup price and add it to the orginally resource charge. Example:630 + 315= 945

4) Finally, I take that last total and round it up to the nearest hundreth or thousandth to compesate for any power and miscthat was used in production. Example: 945 rounds-up to 1000creds for the finished product.

I may tweak this model a bit in the future. I may adjust the price per resource, or change the percentages to each tier, or even change both. But regardless, I will keep this model. I do not charge per how many charges each item has because if I experiment and make a quality product, then something is being improved on how I experiment on it.

Just my 2 creds worth of info. I'm sure everyone has their own model.

This is great. Thanks alot, everyone!

After all this I am definitely feeling I have overpriced my initial offerings.

With all this info to digest [pun intended], I sat down to brainstorm with a number of my crates and came up with a new formula for myself:

(total of all buff points) * (highest single buff duration) / (number of attribs affected) / 500 = base single-use price

Then,

(Base single use price) * (# of uses in single item) * 25 = Price per Crate

This satisfies my desire to create a price with the actual usefulness of the food taken into account rather than some generic price stuck on for the name alone, and allows some room for reduced prices for buffs that also have negatives, and allows a general variation to let customers look for better runs. A caveat is that I never charge less than50 creds a single use; 200 a single unit [because I will not sell any item that has less than 4 uses per]; and 5000 a crate.

Going to float this on my server's trade forum and see if it increases my customer base.
