Thread: As a fellow chef, I wonder why most chefs sell tatooine sunburns at such high prices!

Well, on Gorath, I charged around 250 or so base cost and then changed prices around to adjust for resource quantity and demand.

Here's what I wound up doing:

Right now, I charge 425cr at one charge tat. sunburns. This is the minimum base price and each additional charge I can put on the sunburn is a plus 200 credits. Usually, I don't want to deal with daily orders alongside with educating and informing people how exactly it benefits them, so that's why I set my prices high. If anything I can sell tons of 'em every day at those prices on the bazaar but I placed most items on the my vendor two minutes north of Coronet City. So for the most part, I shot for people who already have all the uber items in the world and are looking to spend their chump change of 3000 credits to greatly enhance their PVP or PVE experience. They pay mostly for 1) Buffs and 2) Convenience. If it isn't convenient then they won't buy. Convenience in this case is either/and lots of charges or longer duration. They want to be able to hunt with full sunburns for 2-3 hours straight tops so be sure to compensate for that fact one way or the other.

I'm about to get planetary advertising so that I won't wind up advertising on the bazaar. I'd suspect my profits are going to zoom now that everyone know where's to go buy Tat. Sunburns and Energy(power). I only sell up to 5 charge tat. sunburns and I get away with 1225 credits for those. It's great. Eventually I'd like to move into high tier foods but for the cost and time to grind up there for something that isn't so great, not worth my time until they improve the buffs more although I'm very interested in Food items that buff raw Action or Health points; it'd compliment your Tat. Sunburns VERY well!

I'm a very laid back chef so I hardly put much time into making food since the demand/supply is about right. Your mileage will vary no doubt.

Believe me, once people know about the power of our buffs, they'll slowly and consistantly come to you for more and more. Just hope factories are finally **edit** fixed by then to keep up with the orders.

I am charging 500 a use after doing some research on this forum. It must be a good price on my server because I cannot keep them in stock. People are sending me tells, and mailing me for bulk orders - I just took one last night for 20k worth of them.

I actually consider this a decent price considering the fact that I have topay 10 credits per unit for high quality reactive gas. Sometimes there are critical failures, poor stat results/experimentation, the dreaded "one serving" batch, etc that factors into the total. And because we can only have small harvesters, I run out of materials daily and have to buy them from the bazaar at anywhere from 3c to 10c each, most at 5.

Besides paying for materials, I have to pay for my training, for the maintenance on the harvesters, my house, my two vendors, and a factory that a guild is letting me use. I have exactly 1k to my name atm, untilthe big batch of sunburns I just put on the vendor sells.

So I'm very thankful for the sunburns, and until my limited supply of the "the good stuff" runs out, I will be able to have enough money to keep going.

I make starshine surprises. I try to sell them at 200-300 for a high experimental one with +163 stats. (5cr and extra for the experimentation) Yes they have a few charges, but it can't touch soemthing that buffs over 10X the amount and costs just a tiny bit more. Sheesh.
