Thread: What do Chefs do in real life?
I very well might know what you do.... but for the life of me I can't figure out what BA stands for. I guess its probably an SSA acronym that we don't use over here at the USAO.
The goverment uses far to many acronyms, almost asbad as computer speak.

I HATE ro cook in real life!! I really wish I had a crafting station at home where I could just throw in the ingredients (Insect Meat..mmmm) and out would come dinner!! IRL I work in a university biochem lab (picture a "scientist".. white lab coat, test tubes.. that's me). I became a Chef in game because.. get this.. I like crafting! Little did I realise how MUCH crafting I would have to do. Also, the social aspects are a lot of fun, since I got a job at a "private" cantina (Thanks D'Tox!). Idon't think I'vefired my pistol on purpose since the 3rd week of the game!

I am a Mechanical Engineer in real life. I own a business that designs and manufactureshigh speed food packaging equipment (mostly for the dairy industry).
Products: Ice cream, cottage cheese, sour cream, yogurt, margarine as well as many others.
In the Beta version of this game I was a weaponsmith. I liked the profession but they were a "dime-a-dozen". So one the day before the lauch I decided I was going to do something else. Chef came into my mind (and it was the last professionI thought about). I did not see any in Beta. When I read information about the chef profession, I knew there can be some potential even though it was very flawed. Lack of competition was also a big factor. The biggest factor was the fact that I wanted to be different.

IRL a chef is just another word for boss. For instance in fancier restaurants you will have aexecutive chef, a sous chef, pasty chef, etc. all who have cooks who work for them.
Also since chef sounds better then cook alot of people who don't manage other cooks but who want to have a better sounding title call themselves chefs.
If you want to read some real life, funny but somewhat negative stuff about the world of cooking get anything by Anthony Bourdain.
