Thread: Yet another pricing question.. need a poll of thought
If I have to buy resources, I have to pay ~5cr per, so I don't see why I shouldnt do the same
If someone orders more thatn 5,000cr of food, they get at least a 10% discount. If I sell something on general Bazaars, the cost goes up a tad to cover listing fees.
I mainly became a chef to provide buffs for myself and my PA, anything I sell is a bonus, as Im lucky enough to be in a PA that has a mature outlook, and if anyone needs anything, you just ask, and people with spare give it to you - there are NO sales between PA members.
If I need 1mil cash, I can ask for it & get it.
Having said that, Im a Combat Chef, so I usually make enough cash from missions for what I need
Undercharging means that when you realise you are losing money, and increase prices, people are going to moan. You may aswell find a decent level and stick to it.
I'd say go look at average resource costs on the bazaar, and you charge the same, and then add on a small markup
Thank you all for your responses. The problem I'm having is that there don't seem to be a lot of Chefs in my area that use the bazaar. I've only ever seen Ruby Bliel and Neutron Pixies for sale, at wildly varying prices.
I like the idea of a per resource unit + labor idea, because if someone gets snippy with me about my prices (happened a few times during my brief stint as an Interior Decorator) I can lay out for them exactly where the charges are coming from.
I think I will fiddle with my prices a bit, and see what happens. My name's not out there yet(as a chef), but hopefully it will be! And since my Master profession doesn't exactly provide a steady income, I sure need something. HeH.

So i'm at the shuttle port and this human saids to me... hey Muja how much for some sunburn... i tell him my prices and he says forget that.... Lev is 100 a use... its a steal...
And i respond yea but Lev makes no money ... and the human says... yea thats tru.. but whatever i get what i want.....
Lev... think about it.. all other chef are selling in the range of 400-500 crds.. its a market we control.... u would not have to only stock up on 3 harvesters at a time.. if u would just rase ur prices....
I have 3 wheat 2 corn 1 mineral.. 1 heavy gas.. 1 med water..factory.. large house.. 1 fruit...
2 accounts.... all running same time.. and still 200k or so spare.....(which will be gone after i buy furinture) But my point is... its not like we are raping ppl... its a set market... with range from about 100-200 crds...
You would be doing so much better.. and i would get at lease one guy a day tell me i'm a con artist and rippin ppl off cause i charge 400.... for 10 use or more...
see wat i mean?
"With a 35% wind spot and a 65% spot with a personal harvester it costs you around .6 credits per resource. At 100 resources for a Tatooine Sunburn that's 60 credits to make one. "
Taken from swg.craft:
35% windspot yields 2520 units of power at cost of 1440 credits. Per unit cost: 1.75 cr
65% personal harvesting yields 1872 units of raw resource at a maintenance cost of 720 cr and power of 600 units (600*1.75=1050)
1872/(720+1050)=1872/1770=1.06
Sunburn resources 100 *cost= 106 credits cost.
My math wrong so far?
ok, now what is NOT included: surveying, placing andmaintaining several harvestors most likely in different places, the time and effort it took you to reach DA IV, then Novice Chef, then reach MixII, and skill in cooking. Plus the little time it takes you to prepare the drink.
Lev, seriously:I am also on Chilastra. If you are selling Sunburn for 100 a pop, I will buy one thousand units today! I am not joking!
LOL i think i'll buy 10k sunburn tooo.... then just resell them.. lev ur gonna save me soo muhc time
Disclaimer: I do not sell food, food and my skills are primarily at the disposal of my guild and a few friends!
Ok,let's look atthis at another angle: let's pretend selling tat sunburn for 100cr is a positive cash income (not counting your time and skill, just your cost of procuring the resourse vs your sale price). As of now that item is our hottest seller. What are you selling your other food for? What combarable pricing scheme do you have implemeted that players are "seduced" on buying other goods from you? Not an attack, just curious.

So I'm horrible at match and typing.
I still sell them at 100 per use. Which means I'm still making money.
Look, I didn't become a chef to be swimming in money. I became a chef so I could make a bit of money by making items and selling them to people that want to use them. I am currently doing that.
But what are you going to do once you buy all the Tatooine Sunburns I stock up on? Charge a markup? Go for it.
I haven't done any advertising in a couple weeks, but if some of you guys want to be jerks and buy up the items meant for my handfull of customers I can start advertising my 100 per use in full force. I don't want to be a bad guy but I have no problem pushing back.
After all, this is a game with economic competition isn't it?
"After all, this is a game with economic competition isn't it?"
Yes it is
im master.
as long as facs are broken i charge 300 per use. going up to 2700 cred for 9 uses stacks.
i feel its expensive. but otherwise, dont blame me, blame the devs and my broken fac.
as long as i click like a clown for you i want to get paid.
if its my factory making them for you while i go swimming or have a shower you'll get better prices.
but since they are broken, pay me for my carpal tunnel -)
Hoggle any way you look at it.... your right...
