will piketta pie stay after CU? Yes (It's in the skill tree in the same box as Live)

will it change? Not sure. We can't see food stats, but the description of the buff icon mentions being "able to dodge attacks more easily". Numbers still need to be verified

Keep an eye on Vidi_MerchantMan's post here for updates.

<Brannoc> Welcome to another great Stratics house of commons chat with the developers of Starwars Galaxies! Tonight will be focusing on the Combat Upgrades so please try to focus questions around this. And don't forget that the Anaheim Fan Fest tickets are now on sale at http://events.station.sony.com/fanfest/
<Brannoc> Please send those questions to [QT]Brekkee or [QT]Phineus - to do so type /msg [QT]NICK My question here. (Replacing nick with their name.) Please only send questions to our QT's as those sent to myself or the developers will not make it into the lineup.

<Brannoc> The full logs will be posted on http://swg.stratics.com after the chat. We'll begin with a quick intro from our guests...now would be a good time to send in those questions!

<Tiggs> Hello, Tiggs here, Director of Community and resident pouncer!

<Jfreeman> Hello. I'm Jeff Freeman, I'm working on the Rage of the Wookiees expansion and with pet issues in Combat Upgrade.

<LECTtemmerman> Hello. I'm Tim Temmerman. I'm the Lead Tester at LucasArts for Combat Upgrade.

<Keldarin> Hi there! Keldarin here. I'm the Lead Systems Designer on the CU.

<dirt> Hi, I am dirt. My primary task for CU is to enhance the AI.

<Malakaren> Hi! I'm James Pratt. I am the user interface design lead.

<Rogue_5> Hi! I'm Rogue_5 and I am the Project Manager for Combat Upgrade.

<Chrysalide> Chrysalide here. Designer, primarily responsible for healing systems, buff systems, new food and new spices

<Helios_SOE> Helios here (Kai in the real world). CU designer focusing mostly on all things weapons, powerups and commando powers in general.

yadda yadda ... and then....

<Brannoc> *RRR187* How will crafters place harvesters on planets now, since creatures kill low level characters so quickly?

<Helios_SOE> If you wish to gather resources in dangerous areas, you should either get a PSG or you could also hire some other players to protect you in the wilds.

ok so let me get this straight... im going to need to hire people to help me place and empty my harvesters? Now with the CU.. a flit or what ever on Lok that hits you while your pulling out some tubers.. will one-shot kill you? yep according to what all ive read.

This dosent even scratch the surface of the problem of crafting with factories. Im constantly getting hit by worrts or something while moving components. Now its going to one-shot you? Hello cloner and good-bye swg

I am also a master chef/ artisan / merchant and have become alarmed at the changes appearing in the CU, especially with one-shot kills of non-combat characters. I think that it's madness to say that I will need a bunch of squaddies to help me place harvesters - it's just plain stupid.I've noticed thatBEs have similar issues; unless they are combat characters as well, sampling DNA from creatures such as rancors will be impossible - another reason why BEs in the game are becoming a rare breed. No BEs = no nutrients.

I really hope SOE will listen to our concerns and whilst I understand that this is essentially a combat upgrade, I hope they understand that they would be stupid to ruin the game for us non-combatants. The players who play combat characters need us and what we do - don't force us out of the game by making our characters redundant. It might be helpful for them to remember that not all of us are interested in PvP.

Brandy took a beating. What was the filling?

So now Citros Snow Cake is not for accuracy....grr

Looks like Crispic and Corellian Ale will be the new accuracy foods.

Well, I havent had time to experiment with Xp gained, and being only a newby chef, there is very little I can cook yet,,, I can however verify that you can no longer consume components. I foune this out after crafting my mandatory, each time I log on 20 ea soypro. when I tried to eat it for the bonus xp, I could not. I also tried dough, and no go there. I crafted a peice of air cake, and COULD eat it, but was given no uxp for doing so. Guess my grind up the chef ladder just got a lot longer.

For anyone who is taking the time to even consume food and drink now, it is all Artisan stuff. Unless the devs lighten up on duration caps this proff is a novelty rather than a productive asset in SOE communities.

Knowing the psycho psychology being applied in CU thus far, gimping Artisan duration is the path I expect them to take and I suppose that will make it 'fair' but will not help. What I know right now is Breath of Heaven is our super food and it isn't that much better stat by stat than crispic or bofa treats. Only those foods last an hour, ours las 5-15 minutes. With fill on breath of heaven at 50-70% and fill on Bofa around 10%, what would you use?

Well, after Pub.17 I doubt it... Before Pub.17 stacking 2-3 artisan foods was great for duration. Now, when you are limited to onlyone HAM buff food/drink - things like Vasarian Brandy, Accagraam, etc. look tasty. For you can get 2-3 buffs at a time for harder fight. And artisan food for easier long hunts.

Again, only Crispics, Aithaand Ruby Biel are good from artisan non-buff food. Chef's Air Cakes, Synthsteaks, Granylin Juice, etc. still have better stats.

I guess in a while customers learn it too Right now at least 30% of my food/drink flow goes to my Guild, which is happy with it.

Chef foods stack I take it? I experimented some at the station, I never even finished making them, I just wanted to see final results.

I will make some and test them in the field but I am still not convinced people will rely on a food that will only carry them into the battle and not through it.

Additional, none of my pet foods work.

Well, Chef food stacks in non-HAM-buff field. You can have 1 buff fodd now + any amount of special foods. I usually fight with Accagraam (for action and mind regen, as I have n-Doctor)+ Crispic + Air Cake + Rubby Biel (when needed).

And how do you test pet food? I have a number of customers who buy Felbar and are happy with it. Do you buff right (dragging onto pet)? For I don't see how can one nowdays measure the buff effect.

Yes, drag to the pet.

food: 13% to health, 5% to regen

No change in health bar after I drag to the creature. I lose one to the stack, no change though.

But how do you expect the Health bar to change? It will always remain the same size (same with your toon). Unfortunately, untill we can check the fugures, not the graph, of the pet's stats - it's impossible to measure effect of the buff food.
