Yeah, the idea of the recylcers are great
They would actually be great if they would allow for more detailed processing.
Like:
a) throw in Tatooine Berry 1 and Tatooine Berry 2, and you get generic Tatooine Berry (stats 200)
b) Throw in Tatooine Berry and Dantooine Berry and some Generic Corellian Berry you get Generic Berries
c) Throw in Generic Berries with Tatooine Beans and you get Generic Seeds (since thats the next "higher" layer that holds both berries and beans)
etc.
THAT would be great.
But the way its now? Not useful for anything except a few special exceptions.

Be very specific here. Not useable in any schematic that uses fruits, or fruit?
I would not expect to be able to use them in a schematic that uses fruits, as fruits are a specific sub-resource. I would be surprised and disappointed if I could not use them in a schematic requiring fruit, however.

Yes that works too.
Never had my hand on a recycler so had no idea if you can only put one stack in or more. (still would like the option to throw everything together like i mentioned
)
Think the planet versions should stay in, some need planetary resources without quality I think (not us, but others probably).
Or let us choose from the Menu, would have to be a bit deeper than now, or rework the UI slightly, have a popup come where you can choose which level you want (something simular to the window that comes up for the Survey tools, just let us choose the cathegory names, and not the actual resources)
Anyway, the way it is now, its not good for much.

It probably works like this (switching to veggies to make things less confusing):
Standard resource tree:
Vegetables
--Fungi
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Fungus
--Tubers
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Tubers
--Beans
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Beans
--Greens
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Greenns
With recycler resource types:
Vegetables
--Fungi
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Fungus
--Tubers
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Tubers
--Beans
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Beans
--Greens
----{Planet}ian Vegetable Greens
So the "Mixed Vegetables" type is under only the "Vegetable" type, which is what the game looks at for whether a particular resource fits the category in the schematic. Using a recycler on any Fungus, Tubers, Beans or Greens gets you "Mixed Vegetables". This counts as a "Vegetable" resource (or "Seeds", or "Flora Food", or "Organic"), but does not count as Fungus, Tubers, Beans or Greens. You can use "Mixed Vegetables" in Soypro, but not in Accaragm (even if you made the mixed veggies from only fungus).
The same thing is going on with the "Mixed fruit", just with the added complication of having a "Fruits" specific type and a "Fruit" general category.
Out of curiousity, does anyone know what the recyclers do with wood? Do you get generic wood, or does it come out as hard / soft?

combining soft wood with soft wood = blended wood
combing hard wood with soft wood = blended wood
