NikkiTs post reiterates my point in the other thread. Now we are talking about we should compare our food now after having BE components added.
Here here. if I could find a BE on Test, I would be a happy Amphibian.

But you are missing one important fact: Chef Foods can take medium and heavy BE enhancers while Artisan Foods only take light. Since some posters have reported that BE effects can be huge, we should probably compare the effects taking into account BE additives. Yes, I know they are not used a lot ATM (I'm a Chef/BE on Gorath and don't use them myself), but they probably will be.
If BE additives turn our foods super, then I'm all for it. It would be a real coup for both the BE and the Chef. I'll be out recruiting a BE this evening. But we don't know that, and I think there is plenty of reason (namely the general lack of superness in the foods that we've seen)to doubt it.Remember, this is all coming from a mindset that thinks that +10% chance toget a dateis a compelling buff.

Good point. Although I think lower boosts to Flavor would still be useful on a lot of foods, since they're starting on such a large duration. An additional 5-10 minutes isn't too shabby, even with only a +10 to +20Flavor tissue.

On a brief look at that, seems like the BE mods are %s to the overall result (i.e. a +50 FLA mod will give +50% duration over what you normally would get). Looking at the BE things he used (+10 to Fla, +109 to Quantity, +50 to Nutrition), I would think the higher the number would be better most of the time, and that bonuses under +30 wouldn't be worth the trouble (esp. with the reduced success effects).
Kriles,
The telling comparison is between the new Spiced Tea and the old Fishak. You've determined that the new Chef foods only tend to come out about 1.5x better than the new Artisan foods (When I first saw the new Artisan foods I got very excited, since I assumed the new chefs foods would scale dynamically, alas ...) So, we've got one of the old Chef foods that barely beats a new Artisan food - just like most of the new Chef foods barely beat the new Artisan foods.
I remain fairly convinced that the new foods, even when suprior to the old foods, are not so superior that we ought to be thrilled with them.
Like I said elsewhere - we've got this one chance to press them to make thisprofession great. We won't have another for a long time. Using everything we can guess about the new HAM sytem, etc., would you catagorize the new Ahrisa as a __great buff?__ If yes, how many others do we have. If no, do we have a single great buff. This is asking you to be more intuitive for a moment. Chef has been a good profession, do these changes make the profession great?
Oh, btw, when you left me you were but the learner, now you are the Master. *wink*
