Zynix, quality of ingregients doesn't matter for components (ie carbosyrup, dough, alcohol, etc). It matters very much for the food itself though. There are some schematics that are mostly components in the end so you may end up only needing to worry about quality for one small portion of the recipe overall, but whenever a slot in a final recipe uses a raw resource, quality matters for that resource.
For exampleif a recipe called for carbosyrup, dough, alcohol, and 30 tubers.. you would only need to worry about quality on the tubers, not on the stuff used to make the components. You could make the carbosyrup, dough and alcoholfrom crummy resources and not notice a difference.

The BE portion of additives must be made with good ingredients.
The chef part of additives, no. When we get the part from the bioengineer we just add water to make it usable, which can be the lousiest water on the planet, makes no difference.Quality for additives isall based on the BE portion.

When I say 'no' to chef additives I of course mean 'yes' to your question of whether we can make them from lousy stuff. Sorry about that. =)
I am going to start typing backwards and see if it helps me.

Why in the world you wanna do that. You do know your food would be much better with +400 and a 45 m timer , right?
I would go with a +400 and 45 m timer anytime over an even +450 and 36 m timer.

For pve itis better with the 45min timer for pvp the higher stats are better.
Currently I do +420 35min 50 fill brandy

I did everything on our chart and I have updated my chef xcel sheet. For BE's what I did was supply all the resources they need. I hired a ranger and a survayer and I got wp and the best meat in the server at the time. I went hunting with about 5 of my buddies who were grinding a proffession and who had scout. At the same time I gave them all vegis which increased there harvest +30. We hunted for about 8 hours and I ended up with about 14k meat. I already had the flora soo I just called up one of the MBE and had him whip up 3 schematics. The rest as you guys know is history.
The hard part is the crystaline gemstone for me(cask). If you guys would like to see the rest of my stats on all the food I made let me know.

I'm going to try to hook up with a BE to make better brandy, what type of additive do i ask them for to make it like 350+?

Medium Nutrition. Check out the charts of the foods and additives, gives all the nams and stuff. I made +399 brandy yesterday. I really don't know how that dude for 3 amazings, I thought that was impossible.

My best brandy was +475... but required near perfect resouces and a super additivite, I made it just for me

LOL got to give the people what they want... and when they shell out 450k for a crate of brandy... not much incintive to spend my time on anything else.
But I do make synthsteaks which if I recall are
+41% damage reduction for like 35 hits 29% filling
