Thread: OMG crafting macro nerf?

Yes, but has anyone gone over whether it's still the best item to grind for xp, or if there's something better now? I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I just want to make sure that the information that people are receiving is as accurate now as it was under the direction of our previous corr.
Well (unless I made another typo) the xp column on the post-CU food chart is accurate, so you can always base off of that. And as far as I can tell, none of those changed, so the only difference you have to deal with in the post-CU grind is the fact that you can't craft + eat soypro for the extra 40xp.
Soypro has always been the best novice-level item to craft. It gives 80xp, the only other item at that point with equivalent gain is Air Cake, and that takes two non-chef subcomponents. After the chef revamp, people were using it to grind even before discovering you could get usage xp from eating it, and since it didn't have any filling there's no limit to how many you could consume.
When grinding, the rule of thumb is to make the item with the single largest xp gain that doesn't require any subcomponents (and preferably doesn't require any creature resources). If it uses subcomponents that grant chef xp, you could make those (gaining xp), but to be fair you should average the total xp by the total number of combines (since we're trying to maximize xp per item).
Novice chef: soypro at 80xp
Tier 1: Pastebread at 160xp,Synthsteak at 180xp (but requires hide)
Tier 2: Parwan Nutricake at 160xp, Karkan Ribenes at 140xp (averagedover the extra combine you needto make a soypro).
Tier3: Kiwik Swirl at 260xp
Kiwik Swirl is the highest xp item in chef (taking subcomponents into account) except for Thakitillo, and that's a Master Chef item, so xp doesn't matter at that point unless you're converting FS xp.
