To become a novice politician you need 500 apprentice experience points which can be gained by training other people in other skills you possess. It's the same type of apprentice points you need to master other professions.

When you have the points, you visit a Politician Trainer in the capitol of whatever planet you are on.

Type /find capitol

Once you are a novice politician, you can gain experience points by winning votes in an election in the city which you are a delcraed resident. You get 100 xp per vote regardless if you are the mayor or not. If you get more than 50% of the votes in the election you ebcome mayor of that city.

Once you are mayor of that city, you get 100 experience points each week for each person that votes for you. As mayor, or incumbent, you get all the votes from anyone who does not physically vote. People who don't show up to vote get their vote cast for the mayor by default. If you win the election, you continue this process week after week, spending your experience points on more and more skills related to the city.

To start your own city, you must be a novice politician and possess a deed for a city hall of the planet type you want to place the city on. Once placed, you are mayor, but you must have 10 citizens place houses and declare residence in the city within 24 hrs of you placing the city hall, so plan ahead.

As your city grows in size and you gain more skills through experience points gained by the weekly election and city update, your city grows and becomes a better and better city. But beware fo the city cap limits in place on planets.

There is further information in the FAQ on this page as well as in the many many posts on this forum.

And no you can't have an intern and a cigar...

I think we are all bored. Not much to discuss since there doesn't seem to be much happening. All these petitions for things make me laugh. Has anyone ever seen a dev look at a petition?

I'd like to petition that the DEVs look at the petitions!

Well I am a new chef and have been having quite a bit of fun learning the proff but I seem to have come up against a wall I can't get past. My foods are falling quite far behind other chefs on the server and I don't know why. I am using the best resources available topped green bars across the board and am getting 3-4 amazings in experimentation but my swirls are still 100 points lower and my blob candy 60 points lower than those around me.

I read on these forums that additives don't make much difference but I am beginning to doubt this now. Would additives really give me the 100 or 60 points extra I am missing?

They do make a difference... What alot of people are saying is they dont seem to make much of a difference in terms of being able to still sell the items. To me the gain is worth it.
