Thread: Exploit to color our food names

I have noticed that the \#ffff00\ food \#ffffff\ works the same for the Housing signs as it does for anything crafted. I bet it works for harvesters too.

I have even seen people talk in color but I have not tried that yet.

Ooh colour coding foods as to the buffs... very nice idea ya'll =)

I've been doing it for appearance more or less - good advertising on the bazaar. But stuff at my vendor (when I put it back up) really don't need that. I do like how my Tat Sunburns come out though I have the colour go from bright orange to red to yellow in a range. I just paste it in each time from notepad. Paste and Copy macros are your friend!

My Label for Tat Sunburn looks like this btw (in case anyone's interested)

"\#ffff00 Boovik'sTat \#CD3700S\#FF0000U\#FF4500N\#EE7600B\#FF7F00U\#FF8C00R\#FFA500N"*

It gets cut off a bit for some reason on the bazaar/vendor So usually it just shows "Boovik's Tat Sun" but it looks really cool lying about in factory crates or in singles.

*can't wait til they fix the food stacking bug!!*

Also, fyi, I use this page for the codes (there are probably others out there as well but this was one of the first to come up when I google'd it): http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html (those are hexadecimal colour code numbers btw)

* Without the "" (for some reason this forum software is trying to insert tabs or spaces where none exist in the above)

While I can figure out the color codes to get what I want usually, I just downloaded a freeware colorpicker from the web.

How do you do cut and paste macros? While I like the lok of your Tat Sun coloring, I'm not typing that or anything similar everytime.

To the person wondering if the coloring works on harvestors, it does.

Go to Options. Go toControls. Go to "Keymap" (bottom left hand side, it's a button). Then select "Chat" from the tabs and scroll down till you see "Chat Edit Copy" and "Chat Edit Paste": those are the ones you need to set. Select whatever you like, that isn't already in use and voila! Copy and Paste ingame You cannot paste from an email or from the chat window, you can paste to it and to most of the item creation screens, things like the bazaar etc etc. My Copy macro is set to Shift-Ctrl-C and my Paste is set to Shift-Ctrl-P (Shift-Ctrl-V should have worked... but it didn't like it for some reason *shrugs*).

Eddy, I've gotten a great customer response, with one exception--he thought the colors were hard to read with his UI scheme. Otherwise just positive comments, "great idea," "that's cool!", etc.

Bah, I'm a merchant as well as a chef and will do no flaming.

Quite frankly, the stuff that WORKS in the Merchant tree is handy enough that we shouldn't "phear" color coding food, signs and other items.

But some people aren't happy unless they are taking something away from someone else, I suppose.

Do anyone have customer feedback as to whether they like haveing the food colored? I was playing around with coloring stuff, but I didnt like how it looked. Instead of coloring , I just add my name and a batch number so people know where the food came from, and if they liked it, they can look for the same batch again on my vendor.

Example: Ryshcate #C by Eddy

It working so far....I think the batch codes are helping me keep track of stuff way more then the customers though.
