Thread: Food and Drink combos
I just made Meditate 2 in TKA tree so I haven't tested this combo much. This works very well for anyone who has the Teras Kasi ability POWERBOOST. If you are unfamiliar with Powerboost, what it does is take half of your MIND and add it to Health, Action, Mind. So for example, if you have primary HAMs of 1000 and you powerboost, your mind temporarily drops to 500 while your health and action ramp up to 1500 and then your mind ramps back up to 1000 and then onto 1500. So you end up with HAMs of 1500/1500/1500. Well if you use food before doing a Powerboost you'll get a better buff. Here is my combo that I've only tested a couple of times but seemed to work well.
Fishak w/ Ramorean Capanata (consume 1 unit of each and you end up w/ a MIND of about +700). So when I powerboost I have a mind of 1700 at the moment and I end up getting a boost of 850 to all primary stats. So I'll end up with 1850 h / 1850 a / 1850 m (the food wears off faster than my powerboost so I just assume I have a mind of 1850). I haven't tried consuming any other foods to help buff some of my secondaries, but this makes me a very solid TKA tank.
An even better combo would be Fishak with Glazed Gluecose Pate but I don't have enough Domesticated Meat to make a factory run of this stuff. I will try this soon though to see how it works.
I've had this question on my mind FOREVER but didn't want to bring it to the boards cuz I hadn't done enough reserach on it to make an intelligent post. I'm not a master chef yet - so I don't know what the best combinations are.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for and exactly the kind of information that should be filtered to all professions using spice.
Note that the combinations will be different dependent upon the profession and possibly a player's stat migration. One combination could ellimnate the health and action bar negatives completely, but have massive mind losses (noted in one post above)...whereas another combination does better to levy the losses across the board. But if a player doesn't care about mind then the first combination is better. That's why this board is so good - we get to find out from each profession (if they read this) what they prefer.
thank you for this info - I just bought some spice to pair with food for selling on my vendor and am very excited to put this new information into action! Please, please, please keep the information comin'!
As a Chef/Carbineer, I'm finding my best personal combo is Ryshcate/Sunburn. I like the ability to eat one at a time for a good boost, but then double them up in emergencies.
Bivoli, BoH, and Fishak are all very filling and require the user to wait for the "fullness" to wear off before doubling up.
Additionally, I find that the BE duration boosters (ie. Micronutrients) are quite efficent when used in tandem with recipes like Glucose. Since Glucose can be eaten 2 at a time before filling up,the 30% duration boost almost gives the user the ability to eat 2 for 400-500 to mind/focus and then eat 2 again when the fullness fades (w/o the buffs wearing off in some cases..depends on duration experimentation).
Also....I have made an "Auto-Eat" macro that works almost too well for foods that can be eaten on a regular basis at or around their duration limit, meaning, food that don't fill you up so much that you can eat one every time it wears off w/o ever getting full (sunburn is the best example I can think of).
If you guys are interested, I can post the macro. Only caveat is it takes up two slots on your current hotbar.
I think we can all agree food, at present, requires too much micro-management to use effectively ***for the general populous***. Hence all the complaints about duration.

Nice thread.....I've received orders for many of these combinations but never thought much more of it...I think I'll start advertising these combos.
At its simplest form, this is the "Auto-Eat" macro. I will be using the 1st and 2nd slots on the bottom hotbar, or toolbarSlot12 and toolbarSlot13. Basically you place a stack of food or drink in toolbarSlot12, and create a macrolike the one below for toolbarSlot13:
/ui action toolbarSlot12;
/pause 960;
/ui action toolbarSlot13;
Thats it. When ready to begin, hit the macro button you placed in toolbarSlot13 and your character will eat or drink whatever is in toolbarSlot12 automatically at the set interval. If I am not mistaken, this one pauses for 8 mins between charges, right around the duration of Tatooine Sunburn.
You also could easily make one to eat 2 charges per interval:
/ui action toolbarSlot12;
/pause 10;
/ui action toolbarSlot12;
/pause 960;
/ui action toolbarSlot13;
Make sure to capitalize that 'S' in toolbarSlot!
Give it a try, let me know what you think. Opinions and tweaks appreciated.

bump...good info here, everyone should read this thread.

For those coming late to the party, or simply are checking in for an update, here's the buffs that have been posted, along with a VERY brief summary. I have enlisted the help help of a few PA members to test these out tonight, along with some IMP friends as well, for some PvP action with some veteren fighters. I'll post back the results tonight, maybe with some sort of rating system or something else from the testers. Here's the list:
Thaktillo + Tatooine Sunbun = great health, strength, constitution and stamina buff, perfect for crafters who have migrated stats into mind, leaving red and green at nil.
Ice Blaster + Glazed Glucose Pate = a great overall mind buff combo, good for TKA and other fighters spamming the specials, or taking heavy mind hits.
Vercupti + Angerian Fishak Surprise = Very nice, long lasting, high powered mind-only buff, perfect for those who want a huge mind stat to simply absorb mind hits in PvP action, or against enemies like tuskens.
Fishak + Fried Icecream + Exo Protein Wafers = My personal choice to combat the downer of muon gold, or even to replace the spice completely. A 500 or so buff to mind and focus, and about 250 to will, for the duration of the mind downer. Great for TKA.
Breath of Heaven + Ryshcate = Awesomecombo to boost the secondaries, combating the drain from the use of specials. Every fighter should have this combo in his bag.
Bivoli Tempari + Fishak = Another overall mind boost, leaving a little room in each filling bar for a nibble or shot of something else. I'll work on what works for the nibbles tonight.
There you have it, my findings so far, keep em coming, i'll keep testing em!
cheers!
