This is yet another reason that food needs to be balanced in my opinion. If Smugglers can make Muon Gold for less resources that give +500 Mind, Focus, and Willpower, and Master Chefs can make Angerian Fish that buffs +583 Mind for the same amount of time, for nearly twice the ingredients.... something is wrong in my opinion.... of course, what do I know. I'm just a novice chef.

Yes I agree, Chefs are greedy and charge way too much. They get away with it because many of their customers have more money than they know what to with plus the fact that there are hardly any Chefs to create competition.

I charge 20k for a crate of Tat, BOH, Fishak and that is probably more than I should.

Sorry, have to start every chef post with that.

The insta-buffs with no crashing food provides are WELL worth the price.

The prices are high because the stuff is honestly worth that much in time and material. I'm good friends with many chefs who buy my meat.

And to get GOOD products they have to buy and use quality materials.

I sell my chef food for 1 credit per stat point buffed.

My Fishaks usually run around 550 Mind 9 Charge 13 min and I charge 40k. They are easily my best seller.

Just out of curiosity I plugged the fishak schem into a calc and came up with the following:

1000 Aludium uses 40 resources each at 3cpu (most of our resources are more for good quality). The complexity is 24. Factoring in factory maint, power usage (at 1cpu for the power). The run of aludium costs 125,866 credits and ties up the factory for 53.3 hours.

500 Carbosyrup uses 6 resources each @3cpu complexity 3. Total cost to run is 9,366 credits and it runs for 3.3 hours.

500 fishaks uses an additional 40 resources each @ 3cpu complexity 26. Total cost to run is 63,177 and it runs for 28.8 hours.

So to make 20 crates of fishak costs 198,409 credits and ties up a factory for 85.4 hours.

This breaks down to a cost of 9,920k per crate and 4.27 hours per crate to make. This is using crappy resources at 3 cpu. Some people will have a lower resource cost for harvesting (but more time used) and others will have a higher resource cost to buy quality ingredients. The lower cost would be approx 1 cpu Im guessing while the higher costs could go up to 10cpu or more.
