Try not to spend more than 20 cpu's on meat but have gone25. If it is good stuff for bio tissues I can spend 40-60 million credits easily and always think I have too much meat but it never seems to last. It is definately our most costly resource and most important therefor have no problem dropping a ton of credits on it. Milk comes in second these days in importance but no chance of getting 3 million units of it anytime soon. Wouldn't that be nice.

Most I've spent is 5cpu. I harvest most of my own meat but that that I don't I either get for free or cheaply. Sometimes buy off the bazaar though but flat refuse to pay more than 5cpu.

That's pretty cushy at 5cpu. I rememeber when I was like that. I refused to buy meat because I couldn't fathom paying the prices people were paying. Then I realized that I wasn't going to be able to stock my vendors if I didn't suck it up and buy some. I didn't want to pay more than 5, but it's really hard to find people willing to go through the boring, tedious task of hunting meat for so little reward, and I burned myself out trying to hunt it alone. Early in the chef career, once I decided to save myself the trouble, I remember getting into a bidding war with somebody and the price of meat went up to 45 cpu for mediocre carnivore.
Thankfully, things have calmed down now, and people are once again happy to get 20 cpu for meat. I was calculating, and so far, I think I've dumped tens of millions between the meat and milk I've been buying. Truly though, I never dreamed of having so much milk. It's my first spawn that's ever broken 100k and it's a good one. With the slower post-CU, post-2nd food nerf sales, I can pretty much guarantee that I won't have to buy meat for at least another year after this spawn is gone. The money spent now is a great investment for the future, and for the first time since becoming a chef, I really don't care about the money spent. I'm happier looking at all the stacks of meat than I am looking at my bank account.

I buy all my additives, but for some reason, I feel the need to have a large meat stock lol. It comes in handy now and again.

i didnt buy it but PreCU some Lok avian was going for 350 cpu at a minimum. It was uber for docs but had low DR for chefs (i think one of the other stats was lower docs only needed 2 or osmehting like that either way it wasnt that great for chefs) i know a friend who bought 100k of it for 35 mil. bu tthen he got another 100k from our guild for like 1mil. he was a well established doc and said he made 100mil of selling buff packs off that meat. but most ive spent on meat is 2mil for all four stats being 900+ got 130k of it.

Whilst we where strictly speaking talking Pre-CU, now meat harvesting is EASY. Even a novice scout could net over 50K meat or more in an average level 80 hunting party. Just one lair, say 20 critters (for a fullish group) at about 300 units per critter is 6K resources. Say 14 lairs in one hunt, 84K. 100K is possible with a full group doing one round of missions.

Post-CU, this weekend infact I spent a couple of hundred pounds on meat for my BBQ. I tried to harvest my own, but the local farmer wasn't to happy me chasing his animals around his field with my torch.
Thankfully I harvest my own in SWG....

How much cheaper is it to make the additives yourself? I just buy mine as I just don't have time to make those AND Chef Food.

The last really swwet spawn was corellian Carni best in the the year I've been playing(and a chef)
spent 35cpu on it and got 2.6mill units.(a lotwas harvested by the guild at a reduced cost of free)
I'd say I spent about 35 mill maybe a little more.
