I'm so frustrated. Everything is fine...I'm on Tier II missions...when suddenly, enemy ships become immune to my dmg....literally. I shoot and shoot...and nothing. No shield sparks or anything. I even managed to disable one somehow and I flew RIGHT BEHIND it...and fired a total of 25 shots into it. I saw my laser blasts go THROUGH the enemy's ships and out the other side. I couldn't even blow up a non-moving target.

I've had mission failure after mission failure on DUTIES because of this. The ships eventually jump to lightspeed and it says I fail.

THEN...I try doing a different type of mission (non-duty)...and the ships are suddenly immune to my attacks.....but I see the shield hit. I shoot and shoot and shoot and I hit their shields (I see the flash) but the shields stay at 100%. I am attacking Tier II ships.

What on earth is going on???

I did the captains quest during phase 4 and unlocked FS Reflex: Melee Defense and today I went to train the first box in it but it wont let me! I finished the quest no prob, though I didn't get a reward for it which I found kinda odd. And I have plenty of experience and such... is anyone else having this problem?

Did you check with paemos after you finished to see if it said you unlocked that branch?
