Thymaster tell all of your customers to make charcters on every other server ......

"Unfortunately, not everyone is fortunate." - Some guy with common sense.

Even though I could spent my time going down the line countering your arguements about other professions being worse, I'd like to ask you some questions instead.

1.) Did you spend 80% of your time trying to explain to people what food was all through your career? if so are you still finding yourself explaining 80% of the time what it does?

2.) 5mil from food sales solely!? Come on. Were you charging 1500creds per use on your sunburns before you became master? or did most of that come from hunting missions where you may have gathered resources for food or sale of other resources?

3.) So you haven't run into a lot of people on your server that refuse to buy food because of it's duration or effect size? (I'm talking about all food not just the staple foods.)

4.) I'm making droids and petspatrol the outsides spaceports and medcenters with their Names being the Directions to my shop and what's sold in every city on every planet I go to, puting my self on follow-lock with a droid or pet shouting a macro every 5 minutes describing what I sellat insanely cheap prices, running a vendor in high traffic areas on 5 planets, and giving away few samples to enticehopeful customers. Why do I only get 3 single item sales a day on AVERAGE?

5.) You REALLY don't run into dozens of people that STILL don't know that the second substat is regen and the first is anti-cost?

I'll post more some time later. It's time for work.

I think I'm at the point where I'm gonna make a macro of the bugged food fix and just run around town spamming it....

Ack - just looked at those totals. No - she is not selling 150 stims a day. More like 20-30... so, maybe I'm approaching 20K a day in top line.

Maybe we need an accountant profession. The accountant could sit in his cubicle(a Corellian House best reproduces the feeling of sitting in a cubicle, we wouldn't want accountants sitting in anything as colorful and distracting as a Naboo house)-he could get xp for figuring and clock watching - as he advanced in his profession he could get calulators, spread sheets - oh, and let's give him a good buff he could sell: say a5000pt mind buff that lasts until next fiscal quarter. Call it the"Accountants Good Advice" buff.

OK - now must really sleep.

I sell, too, Thymaster.

Not enough to get rich, but easily enough to cover my costs - which include constant roundtrips to Dantooine. I probably sell in the neighborhood of 15K a day. Mostly sunburns, but certainly not exclusively. I'm running vendors on three planets. In two of those I also sell stims made by a good friend of mine. I hike her price by 100cr eachstack and take the difference- when you add that in, I'm probably closer to 30K per day, maybe more. (I should be keeping track - but just like IRL, I kind of live out of my wallet.) That's not a fortune - but like I say, it's covering my costs.

Maybe I've been lucky to get good locations. Or, maybe in a SUPER GENIUS.

I still kill bunnies, horsies, rats, bugs and monkeys to make cash for the extras.

When I think how much more fun it will be when there are 40-50 things to sell instead of one -well, that's enough to make me wait this out a while yet. I think with the way Cath. is selling - and honest to goodness I do feel your pain (I totally agree with your complaints and your ideas for solutions) - it might take more rp types of fixes for that strategy towork (dancers dance, you can see them. You can't see 'you consume a Veronian Berry Wine.' as we all know blah blah blah).

Time to find a pillow.

for my part i am chef and my skill tree is 1 0 2 1 , i have read everything that has been possible on this forum for chef, and i have decided to reset chef and to concentrate on spices instead, it will be more beneficial for me in combat , but i will regret the sunburns for sure. Till they dont fix chef i wont do a stew anymore hehehe.

I sell both spice and chef food now. While I tend to sell reasonably for both, food is much much bigger seller for me. People are very wary of the downsides of spice, and there's a lot more people selling it. I do get a lot of people who like to combine spice and food though.

If you want to sell food to soloers and creature handlers, then yes Chefcan beworth it (as Thymaster has pointed out)..

If you want to increase your combat abilities, or increase the combat abilities of a regular group/PA, then you'd be much better off being a doctor..

From my experiences, I sell a lot of foods/drinks to doctors for mind buffs, and almond crisps to all the CH's. Beyond that I sell close to nothing. I make about 50k a day on average, but about 10k at most, is from foods/drinks. Right now I'm 4/1/4/4 for the chef tree. I get a lot of requests for Master Chef foods and also a lot of tells for drugs.

Here and there I get tells asking if you puke after eating food and what the downside to use the foods and drinks. To me it's rather annoying that I have to repeatedly explain that I don't have drugs and you don't puke after eating food. What I think should be done is to change the description of drugs to put them under Drugs and not Food, because they are drugs!
