Personally its all about that little +2 sign you can put on your shop, gives a certain pride when you see it I know it doesn't make a world of difference in stats but when it comes to marketing, +409 for 44m just doesn't cut it when +420 for 46m looks better.

Its all about what the customer see's, thats the first thing they register, if the stats they see don't look appealing then they'll never bother trying them. Least that's the way i see it.

I agree with what you say here, just on a personal note the +2 is kinda hard to decifer. I have actually seen your sig many times and was never sure if that was just your shop name, if you had two chefs working together if it was 12 points etc. Im not trying to flame ya for it just thought I would let you know cuz I have wondered a few times what the +2 was about. Maybe on your server its different, but I have only heard people refer to it as 12 point chef or something of that nature.

Well it seems the slang on farstar for 12 point crafters are +2, refering to the +2 points you get.

No one has come to me about it so i assume its a different server different slang type of thing.

my resources might also have something to do with it as well....however.....I believe even if i had the BEST of the BEST.....i still woudnt' be making my foods on par with the 12 pointers out there!

Cara the Suckiest Chef ever!

That's simply not true and I suspect that once you reach 12 points you'll realize the truth. Resourcesmake the crafter. It'sso important it's worth repeating. Resources make the crafter! You're only as good as your resources allow you to be. Having twelve points gives you options on secondary stats that aren't available with 10 points butit's no where near as important as resource quality. Given a choice betweennear perfectresources using 10 points or above average resources withtwelve points I'd take theformer every time and my food would be better because of it.

You do not have to be a 12 pt Chef to have a successful business. There are other things that are more important that have already been mentioned -- wide variety, well stocked vendors, great customer service etc. There's much too much emphasis put onhaving the"best" in this game. Just as in real life, there are many factors thatdetermine successand you don't necessarily have to make the best quality product if you can beat the competition in other areas.

There is no question that they make a difference, but in almost all foods resources are just as important.

If both a 10 point and a 12 point chef had the same resources then you would see a difference.

Example:

I just recently hit 12 points and I wanted to test the difference with double buff vercupti. Without the add points I was able to make a +1020 vercupti. With the clothing I was able to make a +1095 vercupti. People pay alot for a diference like that. The 1020 I could sell for around 200K a crate, but the 1095 I sell for 350K a crate.

Vercupti is also the only food that I increase my price on when I get a higher quality food. In my opinion the 12 points are more of a satisfaction that I am making the best food I can for my customers. When I hit the 12 point mark I did not raise my prices to compensate, I kept them the same.

Just my 2 cents.

Hmmmm I disagree with you...+12 points is NEEDED to make the good foods........I am only an 11 point chef...and while i can make some okay food.....it is in no way "on par" with the 12 point chefys on my server

This isn't the question though. The question is if the 12 points are worth it and IMO this comes down to how the person wants to do as a chef.

I will argue that any 10-11 pt chef can make 10 million in sales a week Will you possibly require some foods getting amazing successes? Maybe, but you don't need 12 points for that. With the resources I use an 11 point chef could get +25 3 uses. Having 12 points its just easier because I don't have to get any amazing successes.

And again you don't have to be "on par" with 12 pointers to be successful. I would tend to agree that if you want to do 3+ million in sales a week 12 points might be required. Your resources still matter, but those extra points will probably get more people into your shop. If your bringing in 21 million a week though, the cost of the skill tapes becomes negligible.

Thats why I say it goes back to what the person wants to do as a chef. If you must make the best possible food then 12 is required. Even if it only adds +1 to the buff it is required because you want to make the best. If your perfectly happen with selling food that may not be the best but is still useful, then in no way do you NEED 12 points.

I will say that I think a chef will make more profit with 12 points assuming they want to put the effort into stocking a vendor more. Profit isn't the main goal of all people though.
