You guys have 0 clue do you?

TS sell for 250cr PER USE. And that's a sweet deal.

Now, I can make 14 use TS. Simple Math, that's 250 x 14 = 3,500cr

So for ONE stack of MASTER TS's that's 3,500cr. I have heard vary comments that the factory makes a 25-35 stacks crate. Let's go with 25 stacks.

3,500 x 25 = 87,500cr.

So ONE crate of MASTER TS's costs 87k credits. Bottom Line.

For people who are excellent customers, or bulk orders you can afford to give them EXCELLENT discounts.

Say....60k a crate. Even at 87k that's a dam STEAL. Thats 350 TS's. Now, let's do some combat math. On Dathomir, or the like, I can average 10k per 15 mins. But I have to med, etc after each battle.

I can drink 2 Master TS's and buff myself over an EXTRA 3200 STR etc. So let's get to the math.

175 MASTER TS's (because we are drinking two each time) x 5 mins duration. That's 875 mins. BUFFED.

Guys, that's 14.5 HOURS BUFFED. OMG! Per crate. So let's find out how much money our combat buddies can make in that time shall we?

Let's even say...being VERY conservative. They only make that 10k every 20 mins. (which we all know isn't true.) That's 30k per hour. Which is a VERY low estimate.

14.5 HOURS x 30,000cr PER HOUR = That's an AMAZING 435,000 credits made on that ONE crate.

Now, we take that 435,000 credits minus our 87k charge for the crate. That's 348,000 credits TOTAL.

Ok....so let's remember this the whole purpose of the TS is to make the combat class more effective. So let's cut those numbers to DOUBLE our conservative numbers.

Guys.....After the cost of our crate...they are still pulling in....you ready for this? 696,000 credits!!!!

That's if they are just taking 10K missions!!! If they take 16K or higher missions, it goes through the roof! Well over 1 million credits. We are not soaking anyone with these prices, not buy a long shot. Maybe we will just have 1/4 the money those dam weaponsmiths are sitting on.

Cheers

I am so glad none of you are on Flurry.

Charge what the people are willing to pay. If they are willing to pay 250/charge then that's fine with me. crate or no crate.. currently I can easily get 300/charge.

Hrm. Since when did the Chef profession become so "elitist"?

Some of us aren't money-grubbing whores who will drain combat classes for all they're worth. I won't charge 250/charge on a darn sunburn, why? Because regardless of the number of charges, it's still using the same amount of resources!

I seem to get more repeat business than people who feel like jacking up their prices. *shrugs* I play for fun, not profit. It's just digital money... means nothing in the long run. Personally, I think it's tons more fun to make friends and have good business relationships with customers.

Sorry, wasn't clear there.

You will screw over other chefs. That's what I meant to say.

You said your price's won't change and this is per crate. SO for example:

You sell:

Pre patch Tatooine Sunburn 12,500 a case, 25 doses ( PRE-PATCH)

Post Patch Tatooine Sunburn 12,500 a case, 350 doses

That would screw overeveryone who is a chef.

Ah, thanks for the clarification.

I constantly moniter the prices of chef foods on my server, and work with another chef to stabilize prices. So no I will not be damaging the economy.

Hey guys, cable's been out for a day (bahh!) so I haven't been in game to test:

Are factories now churning out multiple-use stacks now, instead of teh 1-use stacks in teh past?

If so, I'm buying two more factories tonight!!!

I am also someone who always sells quality over quanity. I was very sucessful at charging 1000 per charge for 3 and 4 charge sunburns. I just sold mostly to those who did not care about charges because you can only drink so much anyway in a day.

Now I am planning on dropping the price slightly since there are so many who only went to Mix 2 on the server, but I will still always do quality over quanity. The quality of food is what defines the Chef profession to me. If someone wants to special order high charge stacks I will gladly make them, but it is strictly special order and even then I usually work with them to find the right charges, and right quality for what they need.

This whole thread just goes to show how amazingly cool the chef profession is...

One person focus on high quality, another on max stack size;

One person prices what the market will bear, another runs a soup kitchen;

One person enjoys hanging out in the cantina selling drinks, another person just stocks their vendor.

There is literally no limit as to all the variations that a Chef could successfully take in their play style.

Now I understand that, Liv, but then someone like Saitek who says that "no change" on the price of a crate will royally screw people over.

An increase per the cost of a crate, sure, but to sell 350 TS for 12,500 is going to hurt more than help.

"A case of 25 isn't 25 doses... it's 25 stacks of 15 in one nice container that only takes 1 inventory slot."

Ifyou happened to read what I wrote, you would understand I was saying before and after the patch. A case of 25 WAS 25 doses. I had used Past Tense words like WAS.

How am I screwing people over again? My prices were already low, and I have had bulk rates in effect since the begining. Don't comment on how I am "screwing" people over until you actually know what you are talking about.

I have seen a lot of math on this thread. My math says thatwhenI sell a stack of Sunburns for 1500,I ammaking15 credits per resource unit used.

I also bought a large flora farm today, I paid 100k. I don't recall exactly what goes into a large flora farm, but I feel pretty confident in saying that I paid a LOT less then 15 credits per resource units used. I also do not plan to eat my farm, which, for me, further enhances its value.

My point is that I sell food cheap and its still a pretty crappy deal compared to what some other professions are making. With factories fixed, the days of insane food prices WILL come to a end, and I for one think thats a good thing.

There is no reason the price should drop much.

We're now saving the customer space in his inventory, and ourselves from RSI. Its a fair exchange.

I do think I will drop prices a bit because I dont have to handcraft em, but not much. I'm still using the same amount of resources.

I NEVER sold crates under the broken factories. I considerred it a waste of resources. I will now be making all my food by factory to guarrantee consistency. The customer is regardless of our work. They get consistently perfect product, in a compact form. Why should they get it cheaper?

I agree, Produce in the grocery section, is sold per pound ( for us per charge). They don't really havea flat fee for every bunch of bananas because of consistancy (our stacks). Also the purpose of a factory is to be able to produce large quanitities of items, consistantly and for a lower manufacturing cost, allowing you to have a larger profit margin. Yes prices will be adjusted but I agree that it shouldnt have to be that extreme.

I guess as another example:

Candies in the past were often times made by hand, without machines. They had a set price per piece or pound. Machine then replaced those jobs, and now they are producing even more candy, at a faster rate, at a cheaper rate. The price has not changed, nor the methodology for their pricing change. Yes I the consumer knows, that it only took them 1 cent to make this piece of candy I paid 50 cents for. And I know in the past it perhaps took 5 cents to produce that same piece of candy.

Thats my food example if it makes sense.

Real life candy stores sell per weight because it costs per wieght to make a certain quantity of stuff. If I make 500 things of rock candy it might cost me5 dollars to make. If I make 1000, the cost will be doubled.

In SWG however there are two different kinds of quantity. There is the "I made 5 veghashes" quantity. Then there is "I made a veghash with 7 uses" quantity.

The first quantity can be compared to the candy store quantity pricing. It costs the candy store X amount of money to make Y number of packages of candy. Prices are set to take that into account along with other thins, but let's keep this simple.

The second kind of quantity one cannot be compared to the candy store in the same way.

I can mine reactive gas Y and it will allow me to make 5 use Tatooine Sunburns. I can also, for the same price to gather, get reactive gas X that allows me to make 9 use Tatooine Sunburns. It did not cost me more to make thisbigger stack of Sunburnso charging more on the second type of quantity is purelybecause the item is betterand notbecause it cost more to make.

This would probably be different if there was a miner profession that people were forced to buy from. The miner would most likely price better resources at a higher price. But as long as long as we can get uber materials and crappy materials for the same price ourselves it won't be the case.
