I'm not saying they are worthless, because they obviously have some use. The components I have been using came from a 1/1/1/1 novice BE, so I imagine that a BE with the engineering line maxed as well as tissue line can make some pretty nice supplements. These ones I've been playing with give the equivalent of one or two free experimentation points. I mean I guess if your view of chef is that it is not uber enough, then these small bonuses (or experimentation for that matter) don't really matter. But if you take chef as it is (unbalanced, useless, great, whatever), then these supplements do assist somewhat, even if it currently isn't what we want it to be.
The purpose of the post was to say, "Hey, I thought BE components were completely broken, why am I getting these results?" And "This could be the tip of an iceberg we want to utilize." Additionally, if there are actual crafting problems involved with the BE components, then if these problems can be discovered, they will be fixed more quickly than it would to do a rebalancing of the entire BE class. The process can potentially help improve other aspects of the game, as there seem to be some pretty nasty problems with client displays. This a deeply ingrained issue concerning alot of displays showing incorrect information. How can we expect the development team to correct some problems, when all is said is, "Its broken," without the benefit of any type of explanation?
Now, would I pay for the BE supplements? Actually I would. But I have a feeling that the prices on these might be somewhat unreasonable, based on the benefits I have observed. But then again they were low level, maybe a master item would be great. I can't even make a guess at how many resources it takes to make these things, but its probably more than Veghash and certainly Meatlump.
Ideally, I would like to compile a list of experimental results involving all possible combinations of supplements and food into some type of handy reference. This is just a suggestion but if we include the BE components in our issues list we could possibly help out one of our "interdependent" brethern.
As for what the components are made out of I don't really know. The bio-strength enhancer can be made as can the MNS. Obviously more experimental testing and fundamental issues like availability of "milk" and "domesticated meat" need to be addressed.
I would like to write more, but I'm not sure what exactly to write and I do have to go get some grub in my belly. I only hope that this information continues to be added to, as well as provide some hope for somebody, even if it is a pretty small hope.

I would like to say that I made Bivoli tempari with Protato that had a Cognitive Enhancer added to it. I dont have the stats of the stuff I used, but the regular Bivoli was +210 mind for 800s or so. The Cognitive enhanced protato Bivoli came out to +306 mind for 800s. There is definately more to be learned about Bio comps.

I did a little testing myself with bio-strength enhancers a few days ago. They're quite nice in Xermaauc, taking a base +80 health/str/con Xermaauc up to roughly +100 pre-experimentation. After experimentation, I had a nice +130ish to all three stats, as opposed to +100ish on my regular Xermaaucs. So, 30% better. Not bad.
