We use both food & chem and wearables factories.

I have 17 food (totally not enough, but there isn't a single convenient spot to drop more), and 5 wearable (just the right amount).

Use how ever many that you feel you need, whether i use 15 or not is most likely irrelevant as both our situations are most likely completely different (i.e i also supply a BE vendor, 2 chef vendors and consider myself having a decent/medium (maybe large) customer base compared to some others)

I would suggest 5 factorys minimum personally and go from there

This is very true. I'm extremely low volume and only run 2 food factories, and a wearables factory for trim is put down when I need it (I need the lots, so the wearables factory is in a "floating" lot spot ).. The food factories don't constantly run, but I keep them up for the storage they provide.

Althoughabout halfof them are "abandoned" my factory farm spans 750m in rows of 4-5.

I'd say I use about 25-30 and they are run pretty much 24/7. Not too much work to load a factory so I might as well keep em going nonstop.

Same. I don't have the time to do everything. if i jsut had 1 set of vendors I could. I did find it easier specifically making the components in the fatory I would need it in which meant anythign from 1-4 factories for each food but that just got annoyign waiting for everythign to fiish and meant me planning way in advance. Now I pick my components off a vendor and just add them when I need which saves me loads of time.

In my chef days I usually had about 15-20 factories down. I'd basically set each factory up to make a certain food, and then I could store the resources there and use my handy little droid with numerous crafting stations built in.

I would also have my B.E. stuff cooking in other factories. It was nice keeping it all orderly and separated.

decide your self. i use 6 currently and for the longest time thts all i needed. but now im finding my self having to wait so im gong to expand to 10 shortly. before i got busy 6 was fine and i didnt wait much and i probably could have gotten away with 3 if i wanted. the key is to keep em running making alcohol and stuff so you dont have ot wait on that stuff

Currently I use 24 Food / 3 Equipment / 2 Wearables

But I stock Chef & Artisian Food, Plus Meds.

I always have additives in the factories.
