I like the idea of having barrels as having 1x multiplieruse but giving a percentage to the total buff. Personally I would like to see the number closer to 25%. I figure the customer will be paying for a third of the uses, they should at least get a quarter better buff.

I would be opposed to having the container modify the buff in any way. I think its a novel idea, but I dont think its the way I would want to go. All it would really do is increase the median drink power by 25%, so basically eveyrone would be making +525 brandy. That type of arbitrary buff increase seems a bit counterproductive to the current movement of the devs away from allowing players to be invincible. I am also opposed to even having barrels fixed, per se. Bottom line, we dont need them. We have plenty of uses on our drinks, and we already pretty much just use Casks.
Tell you what, destroy the barrel schem entirely, and give me plates for food so I can get more than a couple uses per item. That would make a lot more sense. We have four schems to modify the uses of drinks (small glass, large glass, cask, and barrel), and not a single schem that affects FOOD uses. Give us plates, platters, or something to add to the uses of food. I would LOVE that....and it would make more sense I think.
But thats just my 2 cents. I have to say that the idea of having the barrel increase the buff is creative, just not sure I would support it. Always good to be talking about ideas like that though

my take is why do we need them to work no one is demanding this? In fact my 18 use casks sell just as well as my 21 use ones do.

Problem is, I get so tired of making the same drinks all the time. I figure PvE would use the casksand the PvP would use the barrels. We have the ability to make so much food but I still crave to have even more diversity. And to be honest, the problem is not the food, its the BE additives. They are too powerful I think. Our power should come from our stoves and our skill, not from something else.
I am personally against BE additives. I think its ridiculous they have become the norm and not the exception. While I waswatching the revamp, I really think the devs and chefs had a feeling the BE was to be for elite stuff, not the norm. However, it's also not fair to take away something they gave the BEs so that leaves me personally with little solution. I was so happy to hear that I would no longer be making fishak, BoHand sunburns solely. Additives seemed like a good idea but now I'm not so sure.
