You have to craft Chef Foods. Pull up your skill tree and look at Novice Chef. The only foods that will give you xp are the schematics you get from Novice Chef and up, like Alchol.

Better yet- read the FAQ guide sticky'd. Its your best source of info.

Try logging out and back in again- and see if your exp shows up.

I have had that happen to me twice whenI shuttled for training while I hada practice item still counting off on a Crafter.

Did not relog since it was late both times. The XP was shown the next morning though. To the best of my knowledge it kept track accurately

hello,

i just hit novice chef yesterday.

i was wondering if the kind people of the chef forum could give me some helpful instructions.

my previous profession was bounty hunter... all this talk of harvesters, macros, floral farms, and desSerts and stuff can be pretty daunting.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Well, there's some useful sections in the Chef FAQ (linked to in the "new chefs guides" sticky), although it might be assuming more general crafting knowlege than someone coming from a non-Artisan profession may have. There's also a crafting guide in the "Advanced Guides" section of the main starwarsgalaxies.com site, that covers a bit about experimentation and resource selection. Finally, the artisan board has a pretty good FAQ stickied that covers some general crafting tips.

Harvesters: the installations that suck up resources from the ground so you can craft.

Floral Farms: The particular type of harvester to get flora (plant) resources.

Deserts: Dry, arid landscapes that receive very little rainfall.

Desserts: Yummy sweet food, generally eaten after a meal. In SWG, the Desserts skill branchcontains the best grinding schematics (pastebread at Desserts I and Kiwik Swirl at Desserts III)

Hmm, maybe the FAQ needs a glossary section....

**I can do this without blowing a gasket**

Hi, and welcome to the Chef side of the galaxy. I would suggest reading the Chef Guides sticky at the top of this forum. Basically, all of your into is in there.

Bio Comoponents come from a Bio-Engineer.

Not that I have found. I think that since there is no experimentation allowed on those items, they will not affect the overall product.
