Great response Vomit. I have a quick question to ask... goes osmething like this

The hardest part of making chef foods seems to be getting the duration and Buff right, while the filling and quantity (especially for brandy) seem to fall into place. Making high PE and Fla the best stats for a chef. Would that be fair to say?

Well....

I wish it were that simple

For Chef, it really depends on the recipe and what the clietele want. To be honest, ALL of the attributes (oq/pe/fl/dr) are extremely important to one recipe or another.

Overall I would say that OQ is the most important, because it affects to some degree the Duration, Power, and Filling of 9 out of 10 foods. If you look at your schematics, you will notice that both Flavor, Nutrition, and Filling are partially based on OQ.....so overall you really need to start with that. But ALL of them are important. PE is the single largest nutrition factor in most recipes, and that is of course important. Overall DR and FL are the two that are neglected if all else fails usually, but in order to make excellent foods you will need to have excellent DR and FL as well. Couple examples:

- Vercupti : With good OQ/PE you can make +1100 Vercupti of better. WIth high DR you can make that same power but 50Fill.
- Canape : With good OQ/PE you can make +700 Canape or better. WIth high DR and FL you can make the SAME power byt 33Fill/10m. My Canape is 33Fill/10m/+732. That means you can take one every ten minutes and it will never wear off, since it digests in the exact same amount of time that it lasts.

Those are a couple examples. Being a good Chef definitely has both art and science to it. Have fun with your recipes and come up with new things. How about 33Fill Vercupti? Need a filling additive to do it....but its possible (and on my server extremely popular with the PvPers). ALl of the stats are important. Concentrating on nutrition is important in teh beginning....but it is important to always be looking for high numbers in ALL of the stats.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for the answer, helps a lot

Got another question. How muchof a difference does a research center, and bespin port make to getting amazing successes?

I think Mel Brooks did it...way back in the 70s. It was a Star Wars parody movie. Must admit, I've never seen it either, but I mentioned it a minute ago to a co-worker who said it was hilarious. Of course, that guy's a perv, so....

OK, I'll get back on topic. Apologies for offending anyone.

Bleh

One amazing success is as good as another.

If you keep on going until you get amazing successes it won't matter how you got them.

I haven't seen a Huge Noticeable difference using any of those things. But they all help toa degree. Though I would say that the FS Experimentation branch seems to have a larger impact than those two...no statistics, thats just how it seems to me. Good crafting tool and crafting station are important too.

Its not how you get them that the research centre and port effect, its how quickly.

Case in point i was getting all amazing schems on my bivoli (which needs3 amazings to get my +25 for 17m/3 use stats) in no more than 5 goes using my method of experimentation. Which can be found Here

I tried getting 10 amazing successes with crappy fruits and +81 BSn.. and was hitting +380 for 43 mins... just waiting on some +84 BSn to finish making.. and I can test with better fruits. I think with the +84 and better fruit (still not awesome) I'll hit +405 for 44.5 mins.. 18 uses 50 fillng. Not bad for a first attempt.. bazarre (sp?) and grind worthy..

What you reckon?
