It can take any medium additive. For most foods, the most appropriate additive is the nutrition one, but you can use a flavor, filling or quantity additive in anything. In order to make parwan nutricake get a -90 recovery bonus, you need to use a flavor additive. The schematic isn't going to tell you which specific additive to use, only whether it will take a Light, Medium or Heavy.
