Thread: Goodbye Chef
Take care Rebl, and thank you for your posts in the past, they helped me quite a bit in my climb. ![]()

Goodbye Chef to me as well.
I am not quitting, I am just becoming another gun-toting Eye-shotting goon. Thats all they seem to want in the game anyway, might as well comply and have fun.
So what, they fixed stacks.
Wedding cake?
Milk?
Broken recipies?
XP for people eating your food?
So much BS, fark you SoE.
/sigh... Another retired, but not yet cancelled, Master Chef here.
I want Tailors to be able to craft a T-shirt that says "I mastered Chef and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt"
Heck, I think I'd buy one of those in real life.
To the others canceling too: I hear there's a sale on tiny violins down the street...
Sorry I have no sympathy for whiners and quitters. Have fun in EQ2 or whatever you think is "better", lol

pfff, your perogative I guess, but after all of your posts trying to get things fixed, you quit the day they fix the food stacks? Weak.

Um... fixing the food stacks does not, in fact, solve the many, many problems that there are in this profession. Go hit Master and then come back with the same attitude.
I think I'll go have fun in FFXI. A game that's already been played for a solid year before it even hits the US market. You can craft in addition to having a combat class. You can even make food. There's no PvP. It's got a Creature Handler option, but they can only be tamed for a limited amount of time (30 minutes or so). And there's Chocobos. And all of the professions make sense (why do you need pikemen and sword users in a sci-fi game?).
I hear there's a sale ongood attitudes down the street. In fact, I already pre-paid one for you, all you have to do is go pick it up.
I still play but I kinda quit being a chef once I hit novice chef. weak products and insane xp requirements just kill the proffession for me. I make all my money selling noodles and Pet food (bofa treats) The only chef food I try and make is charde and those almond treats. the almond treats are similar to some of the second tier DA foods with equivilant resource costs. charde is almost as good as Ruby bliels. I make it only when I feel like gaining chef xp.
Unfortunately I know what awaits me on up the chef line. I wont quit the game but chef is borderline for me. There are other unbroken crafting proffesions available. Well Chef isn't broken. It's just pointless.

Master Merchant Novice Chef
I hit DA4 and got my first million credits. What does Master Chef have to do with earning potential. When all Is said and done to maximize your earning potential you just need the experimentation tree and mixology 2.
If you want to know the problems with chef go look at sirvimes correspondent reports. They haven't changed much since they were started way back when. and that's just sad. The problems that have always existed still exist.
I too have begun packing up my harvesters and preparing to take a looong break. Notwithstanding the Chef issues thatwon't get fixed anytime soon, my character is maxxed out and has nothing left to do. Lack of content was the straw that broke me.
"Hit master and come back with the same attitude? What are you talking about? My chef has been master for about 3 weeks now and just passed the 1 million credit mark in sales! What are all these big problems you are having that prevented you from doing the same?"
And what exactly are you buying with your credits? More harvesters, resources, etc to make more food...to pay for you harvesters and resources and on and on and so forth? Ever see that commercial with the guy walking in circles saying "I to do more cocaine to stay up longer so I can make more money...so I can do more cocaine...etc"
I want my profession's products to actually contribute to the play experience, not just be a money making mechanism. I've said it before, if I just wanted to make a buncha money I would just sell resources or become a Weaponsmith.
If the end game is a fat bank account, then I'm upset I didn't quit sooner.

Gah not having an edit feature really blows.
Meant to add this to my post:
Rebl, sucks to see you go but I (as so many others have indicated as well) cannot blame you.
Whats really funny is if all the servers lose all their master Chefs...nothing would really change.
How sad.
