Both of which are far easier to come by than domesticated meat. I spent 5 hours over this past weekend on Dantooine getting herb meat, since it's in season right now (950ish OQ, 850ish PE), and it took me those 5 hours to accumulateenough to make a run of just 440 advanced med parts. That's with 3 people in the group, one a Doctor/Tailor (not good for much but buffing and watching), a Pistoleer/smuggler, and a commando. All 3 of us were harvesting. 5 hours man. And that's for easy to get, commonplace meat.
Domesticated meat ... yikes ... don't even want to know the time or money investment (hire a ranger? please ... that's *hardly* cost effective).

Speaking on behalf of my Maribel-componenet (see the sig), I can tell you that foods that increased Min Enhancement would be *hot* sellers. I've mastered both Musician and Dancer, but found that the extra 25% mind buff from a 4-0-0-0 to a Master just wasn't worth the skill point investment. Of course, that might be exactly why we haven't seen that, b/c the Devs are big on skill point investments.

Velvet-dancer, what about if Pkneb added a +5-15 Fatigue healing (both music and dance) and Correlian Ale gave +10-20 Mind Enhancement (also both music and dance)? I'd expect if you were in a player cantina where a vendor had those stocked (maybe T'ssolok too), you'd probably see customers "buying the band/dancers a drink". I don't see any reason a musician or dancer would buy those for themselves, since the benefit goes to the audience. And the trade window where your customer is giving the food/drink would be a perfect place to also add your fee.

Heh, add that in with Skill Tapes, you're almost looking at a 150% mind buff. This would come in handy, I would certainly buy this food.
As a "combat entertainer" myself, my job currently is to heal as many wounds as fast as I can. These numbers are far too low. The same applies for many many other foods with appx 7-12 stats, like surveying, terrain negotiation, etc.
I feel as though the minimal maximum (
) should be at least 20, the minimal minimum about ten. In some instances, five-fifteen would be appropriate.
Switching the healing mods to battle fatigue only are an exceptional idea. BF healing is something that takes more time - currently there are multiptle ways to gain wound healing abilities (i've also found wound healing tapes drop more often and in larger bonusesthan BF healing - I've got several +1 BF healing tapes, yet i have crossed tons of +5 wound tapes but I have a full set of BE'd clothin' - thanks to kriles
). I never took note, but fledgling entertainers don't recieve a bonus to this. It would be worth a lot more.
Another thought from the entertainment community is a food that reduces mind cost for IDing.
With that idea... reduction of flourish costs? Hmm.. I think we're getting somewhurr...

What, you mean like +Focus food/drink (for ID) and +quickness food/drink (for music/dance flourishes)? What an interesting idea...

Purely speculation, but I think the devs were worried this was going to be too powerful so they left it out by design.
I was thinking the same thing, but I thought I'd bring it up to clarify.

Kriles those are fine ideas! Something that added to mind enhancement would definately be a hot seller; fatigue heal bonuses may not sell as well but they're a LOT more useful than wound healing and the idea of the customers buying the band a round of drinks is fabulous.

Yes, the problem with Domesticated Meat is supply. Here are a list of the creatures that drop it, none are what you call commonly hunted (probably not a complete list, but pretty close):
http://www.swgcreatures.com/searchlisting.asp?meat_type=8&Submit=AdvSearch
There are far fewer creatures that drop Domesticated Meat than any other, plus those creatures are strewn across different planets so their meat can't be combined. Mawgax is about the only hunting option for it and when is the last time that you heard someone yelling "Getting together group for Mawgax Hunting"?
Herbivore and Avian problem is demand because Medics and Doctors need it and tend to have money to pay a lot for it. Reptile and Wild meat are other relatively low supply meats, but both are much, much more prevalent than Domesticated. Avian meat is actually low supply, high demand, which is why you sometimes see the good stuff going for 50+ cpu. (Also, it results in huge supply problems for Avian bones because everyone killing avians harvests meat instead.)

The only bad thing I see with this revamp is containers. They cost too much, and the component requirements are just silly IMO, if they need components, put them in the chef tree where they belong.

I can't say I think containers are bad. It seems the quanties for most things are in line with what is created right now on live with just using small glasses. While it is annoying to have them in every drink, containers do give options. These might not be the best options in the world, most some is better than none.
There needs to be a reason to use the small containers otherwise noone will and then you come into the revamp with 3 instantly useless schematics. If everyone wants the barrel to be used for everything then just remove the first 3 schematics or make the small glass to 4x and require 360 resources.
In certain cases the higher end containers are useful. If a Barrel became standard, there would be no reason to use small glasses. What possible reason would anyone have to make stuff with 4 times smaller stacks?
I do not want to harvest 300k metal for every schematic I run. I've done that in architect already. I don't want to go back to haveing to wait for harvestors just to create items that people think are acceptable.

It's all about the meat. People are already worried about the shortage of meat for BE additives. I think what we will see is a 2 tier market for chef foods. On the one hand, you'll have foods made with light (whatever is cheapest) additives and the smallest two containers. These will be the typical PvE foods and should be comparable to current foods.
The second tier is the PvP foods. These will use heavy additives and be quite expensive due to the high cost of meat. To leverage the limited supplies of great BE additives, the largest 2 containers will make sense. These foods will sell at a significant premium, which the PvP crowd will not not balk at paying. Many of them look for any edge they can get and will pay for that edge.

Barrelswon't be standard due to the high costs. The larger containers look like the resource costs are disproportionally high, but I think the devs may (I stress may) have actually gotten this right - all sizes may be useful for different circumstances.

I totally disagree with this idea of chef food. There should be two tiers of food.
Tier 1 Without Additives: Regular food sold in mass production.
Tier 2 With Additives: Small runs of food that have increased stats at an increased price.
Containers are mandatory, they should be for increasing the quantity of any drink, and benefit every drink. BE additives are optional, they should be reserved for food/drink where only the best will do.
I can live with getting a tailor to make trim, or an artisan to make components for barrels. They require resources that can be extracted and stored in large quantities, and at any qulity (since quality of components doesn't matter) I don't want to have to deal with gathering loads of good quality meat for BE additives for every recipe, because people expect it. If I wanted to do that, I'd become a BE.
