Something really needs to be done about Havla.

I was selling this to players because the numbers on the food seem to indicate that it would be helpful, even a 50% wait time reduction is nice. I mentioned it to my friend and he pointed me to the posts on Havla under 101 being worthless. So I've been unknowingly stealing from people.

One year after release it seems to me that the display ought to be fixed if the food isn't. The food itself really ought to be fixed by now, anyway.

I just made Master Chef last night, but I've been in the game less than two months. Having never played an MMORPG, I find this experience addicting and generally entertaining.

My suggestion for the death/cloning vs. stomach fill is puking. We already have the emote and why not take a stun or dizzy penalty and puke out the food? Ask any belimec (sp) and they'll tell you that the eat and purge routine is quite possible. Not to mention thegame balance benefit...

More food can be used, more types of food can be used and the player takes a small, but noticably, timed based penalty for evacuating and reingesting replacement food buffs. It'll come down to strategy, based for bothtimeand economics. Not a big deal in PvE where they need to take a long swoop ride back to the fight, and it's a strategic choicein PvPwhere the player needs to hide in the cloning facility while their dizzy penalty wears off from puking. Meanwhile their friends are still in the heat of battle, "Do I go out now and fight without my food buffs, or do I stay in here while my friends get pounded by Miss. Uber PvP and her guild?"

With the other food suggestions I've seen here, my suggestion could help hunters, PvPers, chefs and BE's. We could really spread the wealth around and more importantly, offer additional opportunities for strategic play (and longer term strategic, in game planning for many profs).

Thanks for your time.

There should just be a downer. If you clone and eat foods for 10 mins they are only half as effective.

The current system only makes you wait.....and I'm sorry folks waiting is just not fun.

Questions pending answers:

How is the Havla and Ruby Bliel's "Heal recovery bonus" intended to work?

Is it a percentage reduction of the medic/doctor's unbuffed heal time? An increase to Injury/Wound treatment speed (so the relative speedup would be relative to their unbuffed skills)? Or something else? These two foods are currently bugged, except when you get Havla to a 100 bonus using BE additives, at which point it reduces the wait time to zero.

Any update on this bug?

Um...using an eating disorder as justification for unbalancing gameplay doesn't work for me.

The reason that your stomach does not empty when you clone is to prevent the game from being too unbalancing. There should be a repercussion from dying right? Otherwise its making the game just like a MMOG of Quake or some FPS. Sure its not fair for the player who gets killed and has to wait for his/her friends to get killed too, and can't really help, but that is a separate discussion about the GCW and PvP.

If for no other reason, think of Ormachek. It is incredibly filling because they want to limit its effects. So if someone really wants to grind through something fast, they can eat Ormachek, get their 5% bonus, kill themselves, eat another without any delay and get another 5% bonus. All the player would have to do is store anything degradable from dying somewhere else but their inventory and they'd be able to completely manipulate the filling system.

The whole idea of filling is that people would rather wait awhile rather than die to be able to use food and drink again. Which I think is accurate. I'd ramble on about the consequences of the stomach emptying when you clone but I won't. (Yay!)

I'm curious as to what drinks like Jawa Beer do besides fill your stomache up.? Under the item description I don't see any modifiers. I think it was a great idea to put in social drinks, any word of plans to make any kind of effects to them? Even if it is only a drunken effect similar toultima online.

Not sure what item description you are reading (whether you mean ingame or in a FAQ somewhere), but I can tell you that Jawa Beer is actually a useful drink. It gives a bonus to Mask Scent. Most of my sales go to Bio Engineers, novice professions, and other crafters who need mask scent to be able to go lay down harvesters, but dont have the template room for a lot of the Exploration tree.

Bio Engineers are the big customers of this, especially those that craft pets. In order to craft a nice pet, a BE has to go out into the wild and take DNA samples from different creatures to later combine into a DNA template that will be used to create the creature of choice. The problem is, BE in its current incarnation (pre-CU) takes a large amount of skill points. Most BEs dont have the ability to pick up Ranger skills, and the creatures they have to sample in many cases are notorious for breaking lower level mask scent. Thats where Jawa Beer comes in. It allows a BE to go out into the field and take DNA samples unnoticed most of the time. DNA samples cant be taken once the creature is dead. It has to be done while they are alive, and walking right up to a Mutant Rancor and sticking a needle in his backside tends to aggravate him a bit if he knows you are there. Mask Scent is essential for any creature-crafting BE.

I am not aware of any purely social drinks (that have no modifiers) other than Alcohol, which is not meant to be a drink anyway. Its just a subcomponent for making other drinks like Brandy and the like. thats why I am confused when you say the item description shows no modifiers. Were you examining something on a vendor? Or was this a looted item? A bit more info might help us figure out why there was no info in the description.

Hope this helps!

Perhaps he is referring to the Jawa beer available for purchase from cantina bartenders... That Jawa beer has no stat modifiers. I don't think it has filling either.
