Thread: Sunburn and Teltier pricing.
Let me enlighten you a little. Use the calculator at swgcraft.com
Starshine Surprise - Complexity 16 Ingredients required 40
40 resources at 3cpu each per stack. Energy is figured in at 1cpu. Factory time for 1000 starshines is 35.5 hours. Total cost for 1 run of 1000 starshines is 123,555. Since we need 2 runs of starshines double this.
Total cost for 2 runs starshines 247,110. Keep in mind 1000 = 40 cases.
Now for the burns. Complexity 24 20 additional units of resources. 53.3 hours of factory time for 1000 starshines. Total cost of 1 run including power and factory maintenance is 65,333.
65,333 + 247,110 = 312,443 credits. Total factory time = 124.3 hours. 1000 units total made which equals 40 cases not 200. This equals 7,811 credits per case in total cost and over 3 hours of time per crate made.
You have grossly...I cant even begin to stress how grossly, you underestimated your costs. In addition to that, we ALL know that good reactive gas is worth a heck of a lot more than 3cpu...its even worth more than 10 cpu. Frankly, I would probably make more money selling the raw gas that I use than my sunburns but then I wouldnt be a very good chef hehe. Yes resources are cheaper if you harvest them yourself. However, if you value your resources at .5 cpu, why not just go into resource sales where you can easily get 3-6cpu and have no time invested other than the harv runs you are doing already anyway. In addition to that, if you have a large business you will either be renting lots for harvs or you will be buying additional resources as its just not possible to keep up alone. Especially once you add in all the lots for factories.
lol Now I have to figure out pricing on just about everything in the book. I thought having Culinary Master as my title would downplay the amount of tells I got compared to the MCH title. Boy was I wrong.
I sold four crates of sunburns in the course of thirty minutes while in Coronet. Thought I'd add them at the end of the pet list I was selling... I got more requests for food than I did for mounts or rare pets. Some stuff I can't even make yet, but I was told "Let me know when you can."
It's fun =) It's going to be very difficult to drop Chef once I hit master... I am a holochef after all, and Aseurada is my combat character. Might have to pick it up with my alternate toon just to keep it going. There's something satisfying about selling a product that helps everyone and has a 100% customer turn around. It's so versatile... but I'm still afraid of my first wedding conscription.
I ramble! Um... lessee, Ice Blasters... anything different I should do in charging for these, or should I stick to the same program? Also... how do you guys charge for milk items, and which are the best bio engineered enhancements to use as optional ingredients? I'm lucky in that I know quite a few BE's that are beholden to me, buahaha.
