Thread: any RL chefs in the forum?
HI
I wasnt going to reply i hate to type. But why the hell not.
I have been a in the culinary field for 11 years I just was promoted to Executive Chef about 3 months ago that the reasons i havn't been playing SWG as much as i use to. It is a demanding field as a eailier player had wrote. It is long hours, u will work ever holiday I havn't had Xmas, easter, mothers day, thanksgiving or new years off in 7 years. If you are planning to have or have a family take that into consideration as it is very hard not to be there with your loved one on those days. most dont understand the demand and the busniness of this field. But it is rewarding, I love to cook i dont go a whole lot of it any more with the new position. But it is great to create a work of art with food for guest to enjoy and to get the compliment make u feel great.
As far as my self I attended NECI and received aassociates degreein culinary arts =. I have work in many high hotels in my career examples (Four Season West Palm Boulders Resort carefree and the Royal Palms in scottsdale).
THe one suggestion i have for you is to Work in the field at a resort or hotel or even a restaurant fisrt before u attend culinary school see if it is something that u love cuz if u dont love it dont pursue it culinaryschool isnt cheap. As far as being stable it is sort of. Most Chef move around alot alway able to find a new job. So alot of roll over but you should always be able to find employement.
Well i have to get back to work 65 hours this week and it the slow season
