Glad to see the pet restriction was removed. Although I'm still not really sure how useful it will be.

BTW it was in the March 10th notes if you want to go take a look in the In Testing page.

Hmm, am I missing something?

From Sciguy's listing:

+375-600 Health, Action, Mind (pets only), duration 6-12m, filling 70-50

Now buff that up with a heavy supplement. Approx +1000 Ham. Let's be kind to ourselves and assume high results on the filling line so you can take 2 (or at least you can take a second a few minutes after the first)

So +2000 HAM

Surely that is good? I mean it's not even arguable is it? It's obviously really really uber

Next let's look at an uber fighter in combat

Base stats around 900, doc buffs around 2k, brandy +800

So 3k health, 3k action, 2k mind

Now when that charactergets into trouble this food will allow him to alter 1/3000 health to 1001/4000 health. So, like all primary stat foodit's not just a boost it's a heal. What's more it can be used to save you whichever pool is in trouble. When it wears off you keep those added points (ie in the example if you were still at 1001/4000 and it wore off you would drop to 1001/3000)

If filling is in the low 50s then a few minutes after taking one, you can take another one

It's a lot quicker to churn out than brandy - one factory run if unenhanced, 3 if enhanced anduses 70 resources unenhanced and 180 enhanced

The only downside of it is that it uses Lube Oil which lacks two of the relevant stats so it will pull quality down (the Garrmorl effect).

Also Insect meat seems, at least for me, to be harder to get than for example carnivore or reptilian meat.

As for Lube Oil it's not used for anything else ingame so time to get a few more chemical harvesters since we will have to get this stuff on our own.

I made some pet ones to test, and got +998/68 filling/9minsish

The filling is the biggie, using a filling additive, I can get it down to 50, but then you dont get the uber buff

Also remember, the change is NOT retroactive, so any made before the patch will remain pet only

The one nice thing about this is that it is a food.

The filling and duration mean it still can't be a primary use buff like docs buffs. It does have its uses but they are rare IMO. If all someone is looking for is stat buffs some 600+ canape is going to be much more useful to them IMO. At the bare minimum you can take 2 or you can keep a steady buff of 500-550ish all the time(filling of 36 duration of 10 minutes).

A filling around 80 for this is doable, but not with a duration of around 10 minutes. It might be a bit more acceptable if the decay was 30 minutes instead of 45.

Master level food should be useful to everyone and should not be special case foods IMO. That is what lower level foods should be IMO.

Someone needs to make a thread for the express purpose of pointing out all the new changes so our charts and files, etc can stay up-to-date. It's going to be a nightmare keeping the ChefCalc current if I have to find all the new changes manually.

It does have its uses but they are rare IMO

Well one of my characters is fairly much an uber fighter. These are my tactics:

- doc buffs

- brandy

- get out of jail free: mind muon or bivoli/glucose (prepatch stock, i'll buy canape when i run out)

- get out of jail free: health pixie or bofa treats (don't laugh - I have been this desperate!)

Post patch it will be

- doc buffs

- brandy

- get out of jail free: mind 1) vercupti 2) muon

- get out of jail free: health 1) vercupti 2) pixie

To me it's a +1000 bonus to my muon or pixie emergency keys instead of the 400 I get now. Faster to eat too

So the rarity depends on how often you get your fighter in trouble.I tend to get my one in trouble a lot, lol

Can any master chefs check whether the stats on my chart are still valid? I know they reduced the filling of won-won, kiwik, and canape while the revamp was still on TC (which didn't make the patch notes IIRC), maybe they did the same with this. Dropping the filling to a range of around 40-65 and/or increasing the duration to 15-20m would make this a pretty good food. And while I'm dreaming, could it at least have 2 doses?

With the stat combinations (duration, filling)and ingredients needed for this one it remains a inferior product and I wont be worried about stocking it any time soon.

yeah the liquid petro will fall into the same category as the reactive gas ingredient (i.e. unreliable poor oq dr) hard to obtain; with the insect meat it is obviously another huge challenge to obtain reliable quantities for factory production; I imagine also the filling will be absurd and leave no room for any defense or skillmod foods, the overall filling to duration ratio will make it point blank useless as a pvp item. For emergency pve sure. you'll get mostly second rate ingredients and have a product that will get you out of a tight spot. but for mass production/consumption...I dont think so. unless all of the above are modified.

I think we should stop praising every scrap offered the chef profession is offered by the developersand begin asking for a decent, consistantly reproducable stat buff for health (in the food line) that has a realistic filling/duration ratio that will make it a popular marketable item for hard line players. As it stands now this is not it.
