Thread: How I make money and UXP
The best way I've found to make money and move food is to sit in the Cantina, give the Wastril Bread to the performers and sell drinks behind the bar and announce that I make food to boost whatever stats you want on request.
The enteratiners will look at you stupid when first try to ge them to take your bread, but once they realize that it slows down the action point burn they keep coming back for more. I have a hard time grinding it out fast enough. I even have a few regulars that are now paying me even though I've never asked for money from them.
Doesn't work for me...
I work at the busiest Cantina in the galaxy and entertainers really don't like my Starshine too much, even though it boosts Strength and Stamina by 130 with 5 servings. I RARELY get the same entertainer twice. They try it once and don't like it. And UXP is way lower at the Domestic Arts level. I don't know--bartending just seems to be a colossal waste of time. I've even tried selling multiple different dishes on request which all buff different stats. No luck!
I'd rather they add in a food and drink only mini-bazaar terminal in cantinas. I can do better things than sitin one spot for hours hoping that someonecould, might, maybe, perhapsbuy something.
I have my own shop and use the bazaar so I don't have to be present for every single sale, don't have to mess with the wacky trade window, and don't have to waste time shouting over and over for people to buy items.
Most of the time I'm off doing crafter things. Like checking up on my harvesters, looking for better harvester spots, skilling up, sampling, traveling to other planets for specific materials or running missions to pay for stuff. I don't hang out in the cantinas trying to sell stuff because it's not garenteed money and doing a gnort killing mission is. Gnort missions also pay more.
Are you sure you're getting Chef XP for that?
You may be only getting general crafting XP, which is for the Artisan line, not the Chef line...
Last I heard, UXP for Chefs was broken.
Its not anywhere close to 150%, more like 50-75%, but at least its something - and yes, it's on food crafting
I'll test with some other foods soon.
I'm not sure WHEN this started to work, but I know I wasnt getting UXP on friday, apart from 2-3 on GCXP.

I ALWAYS give free refreshments to the Entertainers, they kind of help me out by playing music. And they are all very supportive of my profession. The other day one of the Entertainers tipped me a couple hundred and private msg'ed me saying "I really like having you here", which made me feel good because its such hard work, and I'm glad to see someone appreciate it.
Some entertains like having bartenders around, some don't.
I had one entertainer last night give me 500 credits and told me to give out lot of free jawa beer (although I was calling it gungan beer because I was on Rori.)
I have had other entertainers tell me they thought it was offensive I was trying to sell drinks in their cantina. Whatever.
I had fun last night though. Went into a cantina on Keren (sp?) on naboo. They had never seen a bartender before. The only problem was that I sold out in 20 minutes.
I tested uxp today with a bunch of different chef buffs, and can confirm it is definitely 50% in every dish I tried, and only chef dishes give chef xp. Factory made stuff doesn't give UXP at the moment. UXP is based solely on the amount of xp you got for the final combine, so if you use 2 alchohol and 30 wheat, and get 60 xp for making that dish, you'll get 30 xp for someone eating it.
Also, it would seem we get uxp even for using our own components. By carefully watching my xp when completing the combine step of the crafting while using alchohol as a component I got 50% of the alchohols xp. Thus if you're manually grinding the best xp/resource method out there right now is to make the most xp intensive type of alchohol you can(you get new alchohol types at Mix I and II anyway), and use it in your combines(I can't remember which drink was best) then giving it to someone to drink. The alchohol component you get at mix II gives 60 xp + 30 uxp, and then you get to add on whatever the drink itself gives. Some stuff also uses more than 1 alchohol(but remember that factory made stuff doesn't give uxp)
Isuggest doing another job for money until people become more aware of the power of food.

I like the social aspect of being a bartender. Running around maintaining harvesters and scavenging for resources is boring, lonely work. At least I have people to talk to in the cantina. And developing a relationship with the people there really helps business. When the regualr band does shout-outs for tips, etc, they also include a pitch to buy food and beer from me.
I don't care how fast I make it to Master Chef or how much money I make. I just want to have fun, and running around doing the things you want to do to make money is not fun to me.
I tried bartending last night in Coronet City... wow for a bit there I was quite popular. A lot of the dancers there didn't even realize what my stuff was doing for them.
I did this mostly to relax last night instead of running missions for money, and to test the Chef UXP. I did get UXP from everything that people ate.
I only made 100 cr from a tip though, since I was giving my stuff away free to get them hooked
Entertainers that drain their action pools were enjoying the Stewed Gwouch, because eating two or three of those helps increase the rate that their action regenerates.

I know you are on Chilastra, as am I. That is my cantina and my customers. Go away :-p
Actually, most of the regular performers there are well aware of the benifits of food as I have been feeding them all the Wastril Bread I have been grinding out explaining why they need to eat it.
So you make something worth 60 xp and it makes a stack of 5.
So you get 30 xp per item they eat or 30 xp after they've eaten the last one on the stack?
If it's the first, then that's more than 150% UXP.
