Can someone explain experimentation points to me?
The reason for my inquiry is the following:
I made a run of Vasarian Brandy with +84 BSN's. The run came out to 340 44m 2 use. This is with no apron, hat, no skill tapes, etc...
i then acquired clothes that equaled +108 experimentation and +107 assembly. I made a run and it came out to the same stats. and on this one i made sure that everything made was 'amazing'.
I kept going and finally maxed out at 356 43m 2 use.
so what is the deal? what am i missing? is there a secret chant or dance i need to do in front of the crafting station to get stats of 400+ 40+m 2use?
- also, how are the extra experimentation points applied? when i experiment, i still see the 10 points to use. is this correct? or should i now see the additional points to experiment with?
- to add to this;has crafting results been downgraded?in making the brandy before experimentation, i was getting over 300. now i am only getting 296.the reason for the question is that i am using the same fruit and berries and better meat.
please enlighten me.
thanks

a) good fruits, good berries.
b) with +20 extra experimentation points you will have 12 points to use.

And of course, if you get +10 extra points (110) you will be able to use 11 points.

There is no difference between +100 food experimentation and +109. Only at +110 does it matter. And again it matters at +120.

Actually I am pretty sure that the more experimentation, the more likely you are to have an amazing success. So 109 would yield more amazing successes than 100.

+experimentation does indeed give a better chance of good & amazing successes, but it won't make a massive difference in the end product.
The same happens with assembly, you are less likely to have critical fails, and more likely to get better assembly rolls.
In all honesty though, you can't make up for poor/medium resources through skilltapes. The best results do come from the best ingredients, and the extra bonuses allow you to push them slightly further.
Bespin port and Pyrollean cake can also help.

Well, those were probably Heavies if you got to 110.
Highest mediums I've done personally are +86s.
Highest Heavies I've done are +116

If I'm not mistaken, only the first +25 of any skill tape modifier is counted. So you can obtain an extra +2 experimentation points or +25 assembly.
And even then, if the modifier is indeed from a tape placed on clothes, the tape with the highest bonus will count. (So a shirt with +4 and +3 experimentation gives you +4, not +7). Also a tape with +5 droid assembly and +6 food experimentation (droid assembly listed first), will only give you the droid assembly bonus. So maybe you're not looking at a +108 bonus. Tactically.

On another note, quality of resources is important. If you using 900+ PE fruits and berries, you should hit upper 300's easy. With good additives. (mediums +84 and higher)

+89 BSN's are uber. The 110 would be with a heavy and VB doesn't take heavy additives.
