Well, since I can't edit SirVimes's old post, here's our new listing of chef resources.

Chef FAQ.

This is the best **self edit** profession FAQ out there. Yeah, so what if I wrote it, I can't have an opinion? Before asking any question, it's a really good idea to check this out. Posting a question covered in the FAQ can get responses ranging from polite nudges to grab the scruff of your neck and throwing you at it. Topics covered include grind paths, additives, experimentation, macros, and some general crafting tips. If anything is missing or incorrect, feel free to send me a PM and I'll update it.

Food chart (for chefs)

A spreadsheet listing everything contained in the schematics (resources required, experimental percentages) and a few things that aren't (food effects with ranges, xp gain). Again, if you see anything that needs correction, send me a PM (especially on the ranges).

Food chart (for customers)

A well laid-out chart of the chef and artisan foods put together by Vandessa. This is an excellent "menu" for customers, since the stuff that they don't care about has been stripped out, and it is organized by effect, rather than by skill box. There may be some discrepencies with my chef chart, I'm not sure how much updating she does to keep it current.

Bihlbo's Price Calculator

Currently unavailable. Anyone know whether he moved it?

Mokia's Price list

This is a listing of chef prices based on estimated resource and addtive costs. This is for Bria server. You may find downloading the source Excel spreadsheet more useful (please download rather than opening in browser), since you can use that to tweak numbers to match your server's economy.

Tyfo's price calculator (zip file)

A spreadsheet allowing you to tweak to your hearts content. Information can also be found on the swgcraft forum here.

Experimentation spreadsheet (please download rather than opening in your browser)

My attempt to simplify determining expected outcomes based on resource stats. The numbers given are for great successes, it's rumored that amazings will bump the numbers up (waiting on some confirmation).

Buff calculator (spreadsheet, please download rather than opening in browser)

An interesting tool put together by Eaca. Allows you to enter stats for foods/drinks, see how long it lasts, check the filling decay, and allows for you to gauge when buffs can be stacked. Reading her post may help with using it.

Food screenshots

Mainly for customers looking to use food as decoration. Gee, there sure are a lot of yellow calzones, aren't there.

General resources:

www.swgcraft.com: an invaluable tool for any crafter. Learn what's spawning on your server, which planets it can be found on, and their stats. This is updated by players, so enter stuff often. Especially flora, the other players don't seem interested in hopping over to Yavin to check the Fungi stats.

great thread!!

I have hundreds of friends who all play WoW and CoV now, ALL would return upon a Pre-CU server opening up. How much more blatant do we need to be LA/SOE? Thanks for the 15 days free, that's the message I carry for thousands to your front door who can no longer post this message to you.

I have the spreadsheet...but nowhere to put it. I even added the Mandalorian Wine to it.

If you send me a PM, I can give youa copy to put some place on the Web.

A couple minro points on the FAQ:

- maybe it's just me, but I'd move the section on harvesters to the end, or at least not the very first thing. Chef FAQ should open with Chef stuff not miner stuff.

- On power, I have to disagree with your take on Wind/Solar (FYI I have been a master architect since August 2003 and I do 90%+ harvesters). Originally I'd have agreed on Solar over Widn. Solar was 8BER and Wind 5BER. However, after the changes in harvs Solar is still 9BER and Wind is now 9BER. You ought to be able to buy a 9BER wind for under 3k (they're ~240 resources) whereas Solar will cost you 15k or so for 8BERthey're ~3500 resources). Solar efficiencies might run a bit better, 60% vs 55% for wind, but not goo enough to make them worthwhile. Of course fusions with 14BER and some 80% efficiencies are much better, for 110k or 120k.

IMHO Wind is better than solar, and I think you mightactually have a hard time finding solar because so few arch bother anymore.

Again, great FAQ, you'e made getting through Chef much easier than it would have been!
