Thread: A reference for Biological components
Hiyas, I'm working on making the most complete BioEngineer website on the face of the planet, and I would be thrilled if you and yours would stop by and check it out. For your viewing pleasure, there is as complete a list of the Tissue Engineering line (the tree BEs get for biological components) as I am currently able to put together, with more new content added almost daily. Please check it out, I love feedback, and if you have any insight to any of the tissue components, please let me know. I actually don't know any Chefs (contemplating giving up CH and getting chef instead. Who needs master CH anyway) because of the lack of them.

I look forward to hearing from you

Yeah, as it stands, very little of the BE works. But I figured I'd collect the data, like it says on the page, because it can't stay broken forever! (I hope)

You know, I've been meaning to track down a BE to see what happens putting a "biological component" into a soypro. It's nice to see what's "supposed" to happen.
As a quick question, the "passive biosensors" are listed as giving a bonus to medicine use. Does this apply even if you don't have Medic? How many bonus points does this tissue give? And is it working right now? I recently had to drop the medic skill to have points for Chef, and not being able to use stimpacks gives me a vague sense of impending doom as I go to check my flora farms. If I could go to a BE and a tailorto get a belt or something that would give me the 5 "medicine use" skillpoints to let me use stimpack A's, that would be awesome.
As it stands, everything seems to be broken, based on the very testable +medicine use not working at all. Passive biosensors also are supposed to give bonuses to injury and wound treatment, which is less measurable, but I can tell you for a fact that I was unable to use medicine use 32 stimpacks with a skill of 30 and +5 (after that) from clothing. So for now, its just a "wouldn't it be neat if these actually worked" thing.

I tested with ~ 300 +duration, and I found that currently they often DROP the average dur :/
Still, I will make things using a BE's components, simply to give them the 150%UXP they get from it - pity chef's make only 50% UXP when someone eats it
Anyway, keep up the work on the site
I don't know *any* chefs, so I'm becoming one myself, to test all this.

I might be reading this wrong but it sounds like you're becoming chef simply to test your bio-engineering products but aren't really interested in the profession. If you'd rather pursue a different career than chef, why don't you post your galaxy name and ask for volunteer chefs? I know I'd be more than happy to work with you to see what bio-engineering can do because anything that makes better buffs makes me a happy chef. If you're on Radiant, send me a /tell or email in game and we can see what we can do. If you're not (or even if you are), let all us chefs know where you are. ![]()

Hehe, Flurry.
And no, I'm becoming a Chef because I love trade skills. Plus, I'm indecisive. I've achieved and surrendered novice doctor to novice medic, I've gone up and down every novice fighting tree, I'm a master CH and plan on giving it up, and I've achieved and surrendered master mechant, only to sac everything down again and go back up the business tree and domestic tree (for merchant and chef respectively)
I guess I should go about figuring out how to put my server on the left now

mechant = artisan.
I know, I know. the words are nothing alike. But I'm um...dumb? Yeah

Hi,
As soon as I made Novice Chef, I ran right out to find Riva, a Novice Bioengineer (yay ctrl-p), to see what biological components could do to soypro. The upshot of our experiments was that all the buffs the items said they had showed up, but with 0%. We chalked this up to our both being novices making not-the-best stuff, but apparently it was a bug...? I don't remember what components she gave me, we were trading resouces, components and finished products fast and furious to see what stuff was doing! I hope they get this irned out, it would be nice to buff the foods the way the bio components say they will. And espeically the tailor thing, that sounds like a drag.
