Thread: Major bug that directly affects the power of our buffs

I was talking with a friend of mine that's a master weaponsmith, and found that any schematic that has multiple identical components is bugged, due to the multiple components bit.

The way stuff is meant to work, each component gives a certain bonus to the final buff. However, this is broken with all stuff using identical components, and gives no bonus at all. This explains why most of our 3rd, 4th, and master tier stuff isn't particularly good. Look at the stuff that doesn't use components. Like thakitillo. That gives a total of +900 for 10 minutes. Now look at something that uses 2 identical ones. Like vercupti: +400, -150for 10 minutes. Or flameout: +1400, -600 for 3-4 minutes.

Chef buffs dont need a rebalancing. They need this bug, and the duration experimentation bug fixed. Once those are done, our high level foods will last a lot longer, fit more at a time, and have effects of +900 each. Sounds pretty sweet to me, wouldn't you say?

That's cool and interesting and should be fixed, but doubling the effect of Mix 3 drinks would be meaningless. These things are utter crap.

How do you explain something like Breath of Heaven, Elshandruu Pica Thundercloud, or Vegeparsine which useidentical components and are still very good, and then there are things like Skannbult Likke and Braised Canron which aren't good at all but don't require identical components.
But, you may definitely be on to something here as I do notice a lot of the ones that requite identical components seem lower then they should be.

turst me that bug IS causing alot of the problem mentioned. Im a master weaponsmith on radiant and I can tell you that the high end stuff is always lacking in the damage it should have. I know nothing about chefs but if there are identical items require to make stuff then the final product isnt as good as it should be.

Excellent work of deduction there, it certainly sounds plausible

I'm now a master chef/novice weaponsmith, and I'm still very much convinced this is our main problem, as well as the weaponsmiths problem.

Screw buff effects being manually doubled. Fix this, and our profession will be WAY more powerful than it is now.

Breath of heaven is a master level buff, and it doesn't last for all that long. It also only affects focus, quickness, and strength, which aren't as strong as HAMbuffs or regen buffs. It should probably be able to hit something like +500 each at least, if the bugs are fixed.

I haven't been able to make elshandruu pika thundercloud(no neutronium steel on our server), but it doesn't look all that good... +200 action unexperimented, for a 4th tier buff... I dont make braised canron, and I'm too lazy to look up the stats now.

Because of this bug, the bestpistol on our server is currently the scout blaster... which is in the first box of firearms... pretty funny huh? The weaponsmiths have the exact same problem as us... their weapons aren't improving like they should as they go up(apart from extra experimentation), due to this bug.

I'm bumping this, because I think this is easily as important(and directly affects) the seeming buff crappiness.
