I have to say I like the buff types for the food and drink. I dont really like the BE additives but I must say I dont really mind. If you want to make it better then go witht he BE. so that is fine.

However, the extreme cost of the containers is absolutely ridiculous.

300 metal units for a barrel??? not even counting the other resources

150 crystal for a cask?? not counting trim

Even worse 100 gemstones for large glass?? HUH. how is that a glass would cost so much. I mean lets see a harvest pulls say 6-8k of stuff out the ground a day. that means you can only make 60-80 glasses a day? Unless you buy more or have multiple harvester which doesnt really work since you already have harvesters for the different flora, the reactive gas, the water. etc etc etc.

Especially since this is all necessary to make the food these values are WAY too high. sigh

Truth be told I didnt noticed that, but then I am a master chef so xp isnt really an issue for me. but I can definately agree that it would be a problem.

I am just irritated that I would need 10k of crystal to make 100 containers. that just means we need another harvester or two to fill orders. sigh we dont have the slots for that. I right now I am holding a cantina (cant hold a house so I am basically living on a cot behind the bar.) then 4 flora harvesters and 2 factories. so I have to shuffle my other harvesting needs between the floras or go buy them which is expensive. I dont mind buying resources when I dont need that much of them. or for the occasional order but those resources needed for everything I need to harvest :S

Just go buy some crystal from a vendor. The quality doesn't really matter for you guys on that so you can get it for 2-3 CPU and save youself those slots for the important materials. Your making 200-300k per crate so this should be an affordable alternative!

2 to 3 cpu a crystal? You must not be playing on Starsider. The least ive found it for is 5 CPU and thats on my PA's vendor. I only use casks for my customers, and that costs 150(x5cpu) plus the cask. If it were not for my PA I would not be able to sustain myself as a solo chef.

Well, like I said. My PA helps supply my materials, so I do not have a large problem. But I feel bad for any chef who needs to do this by himself. There are places you can get gems cheaper im sure, but the average is 5cpu if you do not want to waste your time looking around.

I'm running 2 accts to keep up with the floras and now the crystal. I have decided to do exclusively BE food/drink in casks so I will be going through some of the gemstone.

Keep in mind that if you are using BE additives the ONLY way to sell that stuff is with casks, yes it costs quite a bit of gemstones to make, but it triples the quantity, or cuts the cost of teh BE additives by 1/3. I dont knwo about your server, but after asking around, it looks like 30-60 CPU is what I am going to have to pay for Meat. So to me the casks are a blessing.

oh I agree the casks are a blessing. That really isnt an issue. I will only be using them. my problem is that all the resource cost is just so exuberant. 150 crystal gem for each one??? that is huge. yeah I can get them from resource vendors but that means that I have to run around hope some has a huge amount of these gemstones. I mean to make a 1000 unit run I would need 150k of resources. thats not exactly common. plus needing to spend 400k-750k for them.

Personally I jsut think the number is too high. yes I will keep making them and yes I like what they do. I dont mind that they require 2 trim components. I just dont like that to make a component you have to spend 150 of one resource.

If this was a finished product that would be one thing. but for a component???? especially a required component.

"I mean to make a 1000 unit run I would need 150k of resources. thats not exactly common. plus needing to spend 400k-750k for them. "

Especially since the largest run you can do is 500 because of the identical Trim requirement

Look at it this way, 150k grind quality gemstone can be gathered in one shift withtwo BER13 mineral harvs. That is potentially 21,000 charges of Vasarian Brandy fortwo500-runs of casks. At 250k a crate, thats 10 million credits, and at 525 charges a crate, I personally think 250k isnt a bad price.

I think I could muster 150k gemstone for that

Not to mention large glasses aren't even worth the cost... they only give about 2 more uses per item and cost twice as much. Casks are a HUGE jump above Large Glasses, but worth the double cost.

IMHO, since each step up in the containers increases the price by it's multiple (i.e. large glass - 2, cask - 3, barrel - 4) it's all just a convenience factor.

I'm sellinga few things here and there that I made by hand to test out some of the changes. They don't have BE components. They are in small glasses... *shrugs*
