Thread: Described as a cruel joke.
Hey thats what happened to me! I killed one FS guy and it dropped I was so lucky. Then it said i had to master chef and then i said nooooooooooo then laughed real hard. O well I wanted to be a chef at the beginning but changed my mind cause I heard it was so messed up. who wants a wookie chef anyway!
"Hey whose fur is in my Spiced tea!? and my Travelers Biscuits!? and my Air Cake!? and my....."
How is that "justice"? Why is it funny to you?
Just so you know, that's me in the pics.
I'm not goint to go into a long rant as to why I'm so frustrated, but a few of the posts in this thread kinda pissed me off. I don't run around laughing because your profession isn't working right. I wouldn't be making fun of you if you got a holocron, and it told you to master BH. That would take you at least 2 months in it's current state, and that's if you are a powergamer. I would not wish that on anyone but my worst enemies.
Mastering Chef, if I chose to do it, isn't hard...just takes a few days of grinding, that's it. Master BH took me 2 and a half months, and I was one of the first on my server, if not the first. I have had my character nerfed a few times, and played through countless bugs. I have been on the brink of canceling due to the poor state of the investigation line. And now the silly pyramid tells me to drop it and master yet another broken professions. However, I'd have to completely trash my character, and build one that I don't have fun playing...and perhaps, this might someday give me the ability to unlock a FS slot.
Really, I'd like to know...how many of you are just being spiteful because I'm a BH (which I started before I knew anything about the game)? And then, how many because Chef is broke?
Shadow, I really didn't mean to post this to make fun of you. To tell the truth, I didn't even care that you were a bounty hunter. I had just seen a few posts joking about holocron's pointing characters to master chef, and your screen shots (along with asking Thunderheart whether it was a cruel joke) struck me as funny. For me, it was definitely a case of "poor **edit**, has to master a broken profession".
Although your experience does disprove the theory that Jedi Holocrons point characters to non-combat professions, and Sith to combat ones. Unless your FS checklist only has one more profession to master, so Chef was the only one it could mention.
Don't be pissed. If you decide to follow the path then DO IT. Grind to your heart's content and rejoice and your new Force Sensitive Happiness. We have a right to JOKE about someone saying that becoming a Master Chef is a JOKE. The point of my joke was "If you've never been a chef it is justice that you do so now".
In practicing what I preach I've been a BountyHunter, Ranger, ImageDesigner, Pistoleer, Musician, Dancer, Doctor, Carbineer, Rifleman, Commando, TeraKasi Artist, Smuggler, CreatureHandler, and Squadleader. I haven't been EVERY profession, but since launch I've tried an AWFUL lot of them. Opposite to what you've experienced the combat professions were the most simple to master (if the weapons needed were available for purchase). The only trouble for me came with those professions thatrequired you to grind resources into a schematic or spend large amounts of time doing the same repeated actions.
To answer the question of why it's funny, "I want to have fun playing my character and it's being trashed on."Even though I don't consider you an enemy I'd wish the Chef on you anyway in the spirit of empathy, because you HAVEN'T already tried it. So get back to us when you've Mastered Chef and unlocked FS,then you'll have the right to come back and laugh becuase you would havedone something nobody else has done. Goodluck in your mission.
