I dunno, prices are falling quite a bit, especially for Bria chefs. I'd estimate 1.25-2 million per point, if you are patient. There was an especially slow time right before and during the holiday season when tapes were *really* cheap.

Hey Chefs!

I grinded out my Chef today and I want to become a 12 pt chef, in hopes in making a name for myself. Anyways I was wondering how do I become a 12pt Chef. From reading the stickys and asking Chefs around my server I think I have figured out I need some type of clothing that has 20 Expermintation points attached to it. Since every 5 points is a 1/2 Experimentation point. I've checked my server bazaar for one but all I have seen is a Experimentation: 5. I've asked one of the "Big Time" Chefs on my server and he said it would cost 25mill to become a 12pt Chef. 25 mill is alot to me. The highest I've ever had in my whole SWG career is 8mill. Any advice on how to make this much? Basicaly what I'm asking is;

Am I correct on how to become a 12pt Chef?

Is 25mill a good price for becoming a 12pt Chef?

Is it worth it to become a 12pt Chef?

And do you have any advice on how to make that 25mill I need?

Thanks in advance!

I really apreciate the help

Keep on cooking!

You can get a total of 10pts by becoming a Master Chef. To gain the extra points you must have either clothes which add bonuses to food experimentation, or buy Clothing Attachments which offer experimentation points and drop them onto some clothes. Note that if you attach a CA to clothes which already have the same bonus, the highest value will override the other. I learned that the hard way. You can get your first +5 exp easily by buying a chef apron. These usually go for 200K-300K. I bought a +9 exp CA for only 2mil. Unfortunately, I did not know about the override and now I have an apron with +5 Assembly and +9 Exp.

Is 25mill a good price for becoming a 12pt Chef?
25mil was the price I believe back in Publish 17. Now it's significantly lower. A point can be bought for maybe 100K-125K each.

Is it worth it to become a 12pt Chef?
Definately. Your foods willhave higher quality stats. Most wellknown chefs have all 12pts.

And do you have any advice on how to make that 25mill I need?
Join a guild and ask for a loan or investment, or buy the points overtime.

Thanks for the help

So your saying to get an Apron. Then buy clothing attachments and just add them to something like maybe a Hat? Or some boots? I really don't know how clothing attachments work. Sorry for the newb questions. I just started a crafting character a few days ago and going from Master Bounty Hunter to Master Chef is a BIG difference .

Thanks again!

Sorry for double posting, I couldn't find the edit button. I forgot to askif I need a total of 20 Clothing Attachment points to become a 12pt Chef. Or can I get more?

you'll need at least +20 food experimentation from clothing attachments to have 12 exp points. for several months i had a suit with +20 food exp, but recently bought a +25 ca and definately noticed that i get more amazing successes just from that extra +5 food exp. so +25 is the cap, +20 is the requirement for 12 exp points

btw, the edit "option" will become available to you after your forum account has been around for a few months.

Ok so I'm looking for +20 Food Experimentation. I checked the whole Bazaar and only found 3 +1 Food Experimentations so I have a feeling this is going to take awhile. Do you know what drops these Food Experimentation Clothing Attachments?

Thanks again

actually when you master any crafter you have 10.5 points, therefor you only need +15 CA or something...with the apron it will be +10 if i read that correctly i am gonna be Chef soon

I really think those people with signatures that look like part of the post are really annoying, thats why I made this one.

no no... hit ctrl-S and scroll down to your Food Experimentation mod. if you're a master chef wearing an apron it should say your food exp mod is 105... in order to get 12 pts, you need that mod to be at least 120.

The CAs come in various denominations; Zanti recently became a 12 point chef with a +7 CA he obtained in an auction for 3 million, and a +3 attachment he picked up for 300k, this on Ahazi. He was already a 11 point chef with his apron and a +5 CA obtained pre-CU by a guildie for 5 million. So the entire 20 points cost 8.3 million over time.

But since the CU, chef is not what it once was. Our foods have been nerfed, and made less desirable, as all buffs no longer have the power they once had. So, the value has declined.
