Will i be able to drink a flameout and smuggler's delight at the same time or will I have to wait for the flameouts's dmg reduction for the next 4 shots to take it?

as long as you have enough room in your stomach, then yes.

However, drinking two flame outs at the same time will not increase the effect.

I thought it didn't even allow you to drink the second one? I mean, it does give the "this will not increase the effect", but I didn't notice the stack size drop or my stomach get fuller. Of course, this was with Synthsteak, maybe Flameout requires more care.

In general, if you already have a skill buff or delayed effect active on the buff window, you can't (or shouldn't if you do use up a dose) eat anything that has the same buff/effect. So you can't eat both an Air Cake and a Pikatta Pie (both give +dodge).

You might be right SciGuyCo....I did test out to see if they would stack or not but I did not pay attention to stack size.

SciguyCO is right. If you try to drink two of the same drink, it will not let you drink the second. This also works with 2 food/drink that do the same thing, for example Crispic and Citros Snow Cake. That's only for skill bufffs though, not stat buffs.

Also, I think there is a limit to delayed effect foods of 1 hour. There is a timer that shows up in the buff bar that shows a 1 hour time limit on those buffs.

I think that timer was probably made with stomach filing being 1 hour. if it is now 1/2 hour, i would expect that timer to be changed to 1/2 when it makes it to live as well, so you can't say have two flameout effects per battle. I may be wrong though, maybe they will just overlook it, but considering this would be good, I doubt it.

I don't think that's the case. I was testing out Bespin Port (improves chances of success with next experimentation), and after drinking one, I got the skill buff icon, the timer said 60m, but after I ran an experiment the icon went away, and I could keep drinking ports after each experiment until I got full.

What it may mean is that even triggered effects have a time duration. So if you log in, drink a flameout, and wait for the food to digest while wandering around stocking vendors or something, if you go out and get attacked after that timer goes away, you no longer have the benefit of the damage reduction.

I hope this isn't the case, and the buff UI was designed with duration buffs in mind, so it doesn't quite handle triggered effects right. I'll check this out tonight with some synthsteak, and report back.

Thanks, maybe we can find out if the timer on it is intentional.

/sigh Some bad news.

I ate a synthsteak (damage reduction 20% for next 25 attacks). The buff icon showed up, and had a 60m countdown. I sat around new unity for about an hour, grinding through my next desserts box, and after an hour the buff icon went away. I took a quick destroy mission, and the hits I took did *not* display the normal "xx damage was mitigated by defensive buffs".

SirVimes, any chance we could get a ruling from devs on whether this is a bug or intended? If intended, I really think 60m is a bit low, especially for things like flameout where people may want to keep that on as a "just in case" buff. Although as a businessman the fact that my customers will need to drink one an hour whether they use it or not is appealing, unless they can count on the buff lasting for a good chunk of their play time (say 2-3 hours, assuming they don't get the 5-6 hits first) they're unlikely to be investing in the 95% filling requirement.

**Quick edit to change calling 60m "a bit much" to "a bit low". Got "a bit low" combined with "isn't much" when I was typing last night.**

If the stomach still takes an hour to empty then one hour max for these buffs is not going to be long enough.

I think what sciguy is saying is that the effects last for one hour. So if you take flameout and it has a filling of 80, your stomache will empty out in roughly 24 minutes. For another 36 minutes you will have the x% for 5 hits with a completely empty stomache, assuming you have not been hit 5 times. Now you have x% for 5 hits and you can take more food. The problem is that alot of people will take this drink when they start playing and expect that whenever they do go out, the effects will be there. I think this is what he was saying but I could be wrong.

That's exactly right. There is a buff bar now, that lists icons for buffs that are currently affecting you (Not the same as filling). The delayed effect buff icons disappear after 1 hour, whether they are used or not. There is a warning timer though.
