I am just wondering if you need to be a BE to be a truly effective Chef...does it help...and how much does it help? What foods are BE required for. I am a new chef and just wondering if I should take BE as well. Thanks for any info you can provide.

having BE is a plus although not necessary but if your looking to sell a lot of stuff you best get BE. using additives in brandy, ahrisa, canape, bivoli just abotu everything will double the stats. You might get +200 brandy w/out BE but with it u can get 400+

Its not necessary to be a BE, but lets face its necessary to have access to one. If you are not a BE, you need a BE alt, or know a BE to purchase stuff from. Non BE enhanced Chef food is just not a viable option. I think most chefs choose to be Chef/BE, or Chef with a BE alt, because it is hard to find a good additive seller. It is also expensive to buy all the BE additive, but its really not much cheaper to make them

Helps a TON mate. Make your own aditives instead of buying. Increased profit. Just think.

having my own BE is handy i'll admit, helps profits aswell, tho only if you can get good deals on meat and so on.

then again, you could always find a few BE's who only specialize in pets, and just have them make schematics for you
I find that the BE's who make the components for sale to chefs want rediculous amounts for the schematics hehe

I agree..I have a BE who sells me schems (is primarily a pet BE) for a very reasonable fee. I have who wanted 200k per schem.
As i go through 9 full runs of INN and BSN each week that was a little high even for me (and I'm not cheap).
But I have found a very big benefit to business using BE adds. If you can find a reliable BE or two or muster the patience to master BE yourself you will deffinately benefit from it.
Good Luck

I was actually gonna ask the same question but with an additional question.....is it possible to be an EFFECTIVE BE/Chef if you want to be able to register with the map too because at the moment I'll only have enough skill points to get advertising 1 and only have 3 vendors when I need a minimum of 4

Make a BE alt? You're hurting my feelings... hehe.
Three points:
1. Hard to fine REAL BE's, not alts. Granted, its not a popular profession.
2. Hard to fine one thats nice and looking for orders. I hear this alot from various peoples but I toss this up to people not understand the profession and take inability to do something as hostile responses.
3. High priced Additives. *shrug* Differs from server to server, so I cant speak for BEs not on WH. I raise my prices on occassion (usually cause a certain chef or tailor is being unpleasent when placing orders), but I try very hard to keep my prices low. I'm sure everyone can understand the necessity to have slightly higher prices because of hunters' prices got good meats, milk, ect.
Anyways, BE alts. Do it if you must. Better profits and less expenses is a very impressive incentive. But AT LEAST try and take a look on your server first. See if theres a BE already on with fair prices and a niceadditude. We are out there and we like to work with you. My two bits, take it as you will.

i don't know what server you're on but i would say that's more than reasonable, considering that a full run of BSN's would be worth around 1.4 mil if the BE decided to sell them individually.

I always by my tissues from BEs.
Asked around in the Trade forum of my server and a few answered my call, now i left a lot of money with them already
But high priced? I'm not sure, considering current meat prices...
And really, we sell a crate of brandy for 250k, does it really matter if we pay 40k or 30k or 25k for the additives?

Yes, but you aren't purchasing any final product from them, you are basically paying them for the time and skill it takes to make that schematic. meh, I tell BE's on my server that if they have any decent BE components, I will buy those, as well as getting the schems made. BE's problem is that they can never maintain stock.
