its not broken...but its not something that you could definately point to and say "yes this definately had an effect".
same is true for crafting stations (I used a 4 rating crafting station just fine for many months until I got tired of "do you really use that to craft" type of comments)
I now have a 43 rating crafting station, live in a research center...and can see a difference...but if I used that same station (and oh I have a 14.75 tool) while not in a research center...it may take 2 extra tries sometimes (not always) but I get similar results (if not exactly the same result).
research centers give a +15%...crafting tools/stations...while I'm not quite sure how those numbers effect assembly/etc...they do have a rather large range.
bespin port requires all tat resources, berries, fruit, and flowers...and most likely a heavy additive to get it to double digits...
not only that but it only works for 1 experimentation attempt (if you only go 2 at a time as many people do...you'd need at least 5 doses to make 1 item/schem).
given the cost involved with making bespin port with heavy additives...
maybe if it was a +2 to +4 to ws/as/de/be/chef/med/cm/art/tailor/arch experimentation...
its not like this would really be unprecidented since tailors can now use quest schems to make crafter's aprons, etc...+5 exp/assembly for numerous professions...permanent items (yes they can decay...but seriously...who walks around with their +exp stuff on?)
We have the Research Spec in our city (Im sure this isn't doing anything, I dont see any less experimentation fails or successes than without....).
He used one port for each experimentation using 2 points per experimentation, and got 5 Amazing Successes in a row.
He then made another item, got 4 Good Successes, and one failure.
He then made another item, got 5 Good Successes
He then made another item, got 2 Good Successes, 1 critical fail followed by 2 Amazing Successes that acted like crit fails (that bugs back)
He later took Bespin Ports for the experimentation on another item, and got 2 Good Successes and 3 Amazing Successes.
Seems to be working
The only problem is, I never think to use it myself O_o
I use +43 crafting station and best tools available in a research center. I get great success almost all the time. I hardly ever get any amazing successes or crit fails.
Now to the interesting part. When I use my crafting droid outside the city (still using good tool) I get more amazing successes but also more moderate/good/critfails etc...
It seems that the crafting station and research center bonuses narrows down theTYPE of success.
Less chance of getting amazing but also less chance of getting anything below great success.
Currently our major is not a master politician so we have fiscal IV, dont know if the bonus will increase even more when she reaches master.
ok then it's not just me.. because the flora on Tatooine right now is total crap also but it's the only type that's available.
I'm going to keep farming and hoping for better flora, I guess I'll just markdown the +6 when I get something better.
