Hello I have a few questions to ask,

1.I made a fishing poll with 95% Eff. but it didnt seam to help me catch any fish? Does getting the stats up not matter in fishing?

2.I tryed it out and caught a Blackfish,and a Ray. both had a 2 above them.

3.I cutup the fish and got 2 things of chum but it wouldnt let me put them together,it said they were the same(well it didnt say any thing but chum).

4.The fish WENT TOGETHER into the same container even though they were 2 diferant fish? When I looked at the container it just said fish meat and the planet? Are all fish the same? If I go out and fish will all fish be the same meat on what ever planet your on even if all fish are diferant?

5.The 2 fish gave me 14 meat,but after choping up their were still 2 fish in my inventory? But now they had a 0 above them? Can they still be used for something or is that it?

1. I think Effeciency of the pole helps you reel in things you hook.

3. The chum stacks are more bait. They're like food, but I wouldn't eat it... They just don't stack, they have 2 charges when loaded into your pole.

4. Fish meat is by planet. but all fish caught on a planet just provide fish meat. It's like Carnivore Meat, or Wooly Hide. I assume that resource might change names, but if it's named "variablet" and it's Nabooian Fish Meat, it'll always stack with more "variablet".

5. The fileted fish can be dropped in a house for decoration. I'm going to assume at some point we'll be able to get them up off the floor without resorting to a bug with how staircases work. (And my house doesn't even have a staircase)

I Think it would be cool to mount one on my wall,I see in the box that their are sizes to fish,Will a 3 look bigger that a 2 on the wall?

also I see insect,and worm bait for sell on the bizarr but ive never seen it come off any thing,is this a rare thing?If not were can I get it?

Is all water the same? if I go to a pond will I get the same stuff as if i went to the ocean?

One thing I would like to see,Is that ocean fish should be bigger than any thing caught in a lake or pond,and mabie a realy rare delicasey fish with all 999's.

Oh also can we make sushi?

All of the fishing bait that I've seen (insect bait, worm bait, grub bait) comes from the Scout's /forage command. It's not all that rare, though I think worm bait is more common than the other two. Maybe 10-25% of forages give you some type of bait. I hope that the different baits affect what kind of fish you're likely to catch, but I can't be sure. I haven't tried out fishing yet, I've just collected a lot of bait!

There was a way in beta to mount a fish on the wall but I don't remember the mechanics. It involved a bug where in certain places on multistory houses if you tried to drop something it ended up about 5 feet off the ground in midair. So you just rotated the fish to whether you wanted its head sticking our or it parallel to the wall. I don't remember where in a house it was you did this and it could be they fixed the bug.

Lots of questions from me:

Can someone explain how fish are actually caught? I've been fishing many times in places where there were splashes in the water. Only once have I ever hooked something, and it ended up getting away. When I get a bite, is there something I should do? Someone told me I needed to target the fish once I had it on the line and pickt it up. Is this true? I've read a fishing guide on Allakhazam, but it was only helpful to a point.

I dont think this has been documented properly yet so let me fill you in here, I figured this out recently through trial and error and the fact is that once you understand how the system works then you're chances of succeeding increase a fair bit. However at the end of the day it isn't a skillful persuit because it's based 100% on luck.

First of all you need a good fishing rod, however due to the fact that the rods dont have statistics you have to either make it yourself or have someone else have it custom made. Make sure it's made from the toughest materials possible because these will greatly increase your chance of succeeding. Now once you have the rod you need bait, this is found by scouts so you need either the scouts foraging skills or ask someone else or buy it from the bazaar.

So now you have everything you need to start fishing, drag the bait over to the rob inside your inventory as if it was a container such as a backpack. The rod is now ready. Equip it and find yourself a reasonably deep body of water, wade out to about waist highet for the best results but make sure you're still standing.

Inside your menu bring up the radial menu for the rod and select 'start fishing' this will cast the line, I'd suggest you don't close the inventory until the bobber has landed in the water as I have noticed it causes the line to usually fall shorter than it needs to be. So now you're starting to fish. The first thing you will notice is that another window pops up with the details about the rod and the bait along with commands below them.

The distance is quite important for ensuring successful fishing, if it's too far out then you'll find the fish has more time to wriggle around and break free. If it's too close then you'll find the line being reeled in after only a few failed attempts. The other important detail is the status of the bait, this will slowly become soggy and then disintergrate the longer its in the water, sometimes faster and sometimes slower. The idea is to not let it become mushy as it can mean you simply lose the bait. Once it becomes mushy instantly stop fishing and cast the line again.

The fishing itself is a game of 'chase the ace', a card game which has several variations but boils down to having 3 cards face down and you need to pick the one which is the card which wins. The TUG commands on the fishing menu are those 3 cards. Only one of which progresses your fishing. After a brief period of time there will be a message on screen and in the menu saying 'NIBBLE' this is basically telling you to select a tug direction. UP, LEFT or RIGHT are your options. Pick the correct one and you progress to the next step.

Once you have picked the right direction for the tug the message will change to 'BITE!' you now have to pick one of the directions again. I have found that you typically need to only select the direction you picked previously again, it does however seem to be random but with a leaning towards that same tug command. If you pick the wrong one then you revert to the WAITING stage where you need to go through it all again.

If however you did pick the right one everything next is automated. You'll see a move by countermove report on what is happening with the struggle between you reeling the fish in and the fish trying to escape. This is where the rod's stats come into play as the higher the usage was for the rod the greater your success at this point. Once the fish is reeled in you'll be told what you have.

The fish will appear in your menu as it's natural self. To get anything usefull from it you have to select the radial menu options which says 'FILET' this will gut the fish giving you fishmeat, chum bait and the empty husk of the fish which you can use as a trophy in your home.

Currently I have only come across the following fish types:

Blowfish (slightly rare)
Ray
Blackfish
Striped fish
Bluefish
Laa
Faa

All of which i found on Rori and Naboo so other fish might exist on other planets. At the moment the biggest fish I've caught was a 1m long Ray, I'm unsure if there are any larger but the fact it was dot on 1m seems to suggest it might have been the maximum.

I have a medium Naboo house with stairs and was able to place my fish quite nicely on the wall at various levels due to the stairs I dropped them on. I have 7 fish on the one wall.

as a update to this post ive been fishing lots...

And I seam to catch more when you cast out (9 range max)any more than that they seam to allways fall off.

And let the line sit their untill it goes nibble-bite- THEN pull up,left,or right.

If it sits their and goes nibble-bite-waiting,,do a small realin and let it sit one more time,if that fails then real in all the way and recast.

Also Keeping the bait fresh seams to get bigger fish.....(and in 2 days of fishing only 1 blowfish caught)..all the same meat though.

one last question WHY do you not get exp in something for fishing?

It takes forever even if you good at it,and you get nothing.

If this isnt a survival skill im not sure what sould be one.

Has anyone else had the fishing screen automatically resized smaller after each action? Mine gets a little bit smaller each action until it becomes unusable. I have not reportred this to the overwhelmed helpdesk...

I’ve also got a few questions to add if anyone know the answers:

Has anyone caught a fish with a number other than “2” above it? (When you examine, it says 2/5, so I’m guessing there are different “size” fish, but I’ve never caught anything other than the “2”.)

Does anyone know if the “Your rod bends and your line goes tight” message means anything? (The fish always get away when I get that message. I’m guessing it may be when you get the larger sized fish biting.)

Does anyone know if the “Your line got snagged on some vegetation” message means anything? (I had never gotten that message before, and then tonight it was happening constantly. I would stop doing it if I knew how )
