if it costs a be over a million to make a schematic of tissues, what's going to be the offering price for these tissues? just curious.

I'm not going to pay anything, as I have a second account I'm leveling to Master Bio-Eng.

Whatever the BE's charge, I'll add that onto my prices, so if they overcharge, they will be buying food and drink at inflated prices.

If they charge too much, I wont buy, and when customers ask, I'll explain why I dont sell enhanced products

I know some master BE's, so Im hoping they wont be charging stupid prices - if they do, they're losing a regular customer.

There's no way to tell until we see the final system. The numbers out of TC seem to be changing every day or two. In the thread SV just posted, it looks like an additive food about doubles the effectiveness of a standard food. Under the "players want/demand the best" principle which frequently drives players to spend 100x as much on guns that are only 5% better, I think it's safe to assume that a high quality food with a high quality additive could easily fetch 10x the price of a non-enhanced food. Of course, the Devs could decide that additives are too powerful and tweak the system again tomorrow, lowering the bonus (and subsequently demand and price). It's all guesswork at this point.

Also, the price is going to depend a LOT on the supply of additives. BEs are in noticably short supply, and mass producing tissues appears to be quite an undertaking. If only a couple BEs on your server decide to go through the hassle of supplying additives, they could essentially name any price they like and still see sales.

Actually I don't think it is the supply of BE's that is the problem but the supply of Meat. Herb meat is hard to get because docs go through it like crazy.

1 stack of food lasts a lot shorter time than 1 stim pack does. If I sold 40 crates per day I would need 30kish meat per day(Depends a lot on the additive). You would have to have 5-10 rangers working for you all the time.

I'm planning to go master BE myself just to see how things go.

Well thanksfully one of my good buddies ingame is a master BE, and I think he already has a couple of ranger working with him, so at least I wont be getting overcharged. I do get worried though, the cost of BE additives along with the higher end containers could make my food unsellable, Im not going to charge only a few credits over cost when I could just become a chef supplier and make 10 times the amount selling chefs on my server flora.

This principle wont work with food like it does with guns... Guns are a long term investment, food isn't. You buy it, you eat it, it's gone. No-onewithout huge amounts of money to burnwould pay 10x more for a slight improvement in a rapid consumable. I have some doubts about the success of enhanced food... if one heavy filling additive uses 85 meat(IIRC), which for good quality retails at 10cpu or more on must servers, you'd have to add on 1000 credits per stack to make any profit(25K extra per crate already)... And I doubt the BE's would be selling the additives at production cost either... I just hope the devs have thought things through...

If Heavy Additives have a big enough effect, then players will make special orders for them, to go with the every day run-of-the-mill stuff, for those special occasions:

Krayt Dragon hunting, big PvP events, getting murdered in the nightsister caves..

Here is what will be required to make a single item. Let's say you want a crate of 50 light nutritional additives (I choose these because they are the cheapest for a BE to make). If we assume an average price of 2 cpu for good organics and 5 cpu for good meat (and I usually have to pay 8-10 for good meat), then the ingredients will cost the BE 7250. Would you be willing to pay 15K for a crate?

On the high end, a crate of Heavy Mass additives would cost 24,750 (IF I can get that much Domesticated Meat, which is NOT easy and is never 5 cpu!). Are you willing to pay 50K for a crate of 50 of these?

In general, if this system goes live then you can expect to never see flavor additives (1000 milk for a crate?) and to only rarely see mass additives. Nutritional are your best shot and replicating are doable.

Light
Carboreductive Catalyst - mass - 20 organic, 20 Domesitcated Meat, 20 Wild Meat
Hyper Yeast Additive - replicating - 20 Organic, 20 Cereal, 20 Wild Meat
Micronutrient Supplement - nutritional - 20 Organic, 15 Flora Food, 15 Creature Food
Multisaccharide Dimate - flavor - 20 Organic, 20 Milk, 25 Flora Food

Medium
Broad-Spectrum Nutrients - nutritional - 35 Organic, 25 Flora Food, 20 Creature Food
Caloric Conversion Supplement - mass - 35 Seeds, 30 Domesticated Meat, 35 Wild
Hyper Yeast Concentrate - replicating - 25 Organic, 20 Cereal, 20 Wild Meat
Multisaccharide Tetramate - flavor - 35 Seeds, 30 milk, 30 Flora Food

Heavy
Carbocaloric Eliminator - mass - 35 Fruit, 40 Domesticated Meat, 45 Wild Meat
Edible Nano Constructors - replicating - 25 Vegetables, 40 Cereal, 30 Wild Meat
Intelligent Nanonutrients - nutritional - 55 Organic, 35 Flora, 20 Creature
Multisaccharide Pentamate - flavor - 35 Berries, 40 Milk, 45 Flora Food

Hi,
Im a MBE on Gorath and Im preparing to mass produce Heavy Nutritional Additives. Im looking for hq meat at the moment and Im wondering which Stats of the Meat are most important. I assumed that OQ/FL would be the deal, but a clarification from a MBE on TC would be nice.
As far as the price is concerned. I have offers of very hq meat (900+ oq, 800+ fl, 800+ pe) for 60cpu. 20k of that stuff would cost me 1.2mio, that would mean i could produce 1000 Additives with it for a price of 1200 EACH without the other Stuff i need for it and without own profit. So a crate of 50 heavy nutritional Additives, made with very hq resources would cost around 100k. I think, this is insane. What do you think of it ? Are the prices on your Servers also so high for meat ?

aclefi, i would assume its oq/pe/flav, as that is the stats you need to look for in most other BE stuff.
